Recent Shopping Experience with Wireless1 - Misleading Picture on Their eBay Site

Hi all,

I have recently bought below item from Wireless 1 and it comes with a bonus 16GB Sandisk Ultra Micro SD card.

I have recently bought this item from Wireless 1 and it comes with a bonus 16GB Sandisk Ultra Micro SD card.

The shipping's super fast but I'm a bit disappointed with the bonus SD card as the one showing on the pic is the 80MB/s one (Red and Grey colour) however the one in the package's the 48MB/s (White and Grey colour) product which has the same name as "Ultra".

I'm not like short of a couple of dollars for a faster card but just feel sad about it.

I have tried to contact them and apparently their dispatch team is a lot more efficient than their CRM people.
Has anyone has similar encounters with them? How did you resolve the issue?

  • Had to do a few warranty claims and they insisted that I have to go to the manufacturer first.

    • Did you go to the shop front?

      • Nope. Email.

I'd totally be a bit disappointed too, but apart from the picture, I can't see anywhere else where they even mention that it will be a sandisk. I don't think they would have been expecting anyone to try to work out the exact model based on the picture. "Never look a gift horse in the mouth" is probably apt here.

  • eBay has various protections, so you'd probably win if you file a dispute.

Always use the protections of eBay and Paypal if you have the choice.

  • Images are usually for illustration purpose only.

They never said the speed or model of the microsd card.

Yes, but you'd have to agree that if they have a picture of something, and don't actually say that the picture is for illustrative purposes only, that you have a right to expect to get what you see.

Maybe they changed the color later on.

        What about this store http://www.flipkart.com/sandisk-ultra-16-gb-sdhc-class-10-48…

Which microsd would you expect to get? The 48MB/S in the description or the 80MB/S one in the picture?

If the OP is unhappy with it, I guess he could contact them and return it along with the NAS and get a refund.

          Its a pretty simple concept.

A description is more important then a photo.

But if there is no photo, then the photo is what you use.

In OP's case he is in the right since there is no description of the memory card.

While I can't make any guarantees, I'm quite sure the department of fair trading would side with him.
