Good price. I bought it for $50 off gumtree a year or so ago (then i ripped it and re sold it for $55)

    • Naughty boy!!

    • +16

You ripped it or did a camcorder bootleg job like Jerry did in The Little Kicks episode?

      • +1

Yes, this, but updated for the new millennium - i did it with an iPhone

        • +8

But who's millennium party would you go to, Newman's or Kramer's?

        • +1

          @D1977: The Newmanium!

      • +3

        Its no Deathblow!

    • +5

Ripped 32 DVD's, I find it a chore to load one to watch!

        • How so?

        • +5

          It is straight up piracy.

        • -6

@gilbarc: no, its a back up copy of something i owned. I did not redistribute in any way.

        • +7

@pointless comment: You sold the originals, ergo you didn't own it anymore. So keeping the "backups" is still piracy :)

        • +1

@pointless comment: This isn't about moral high ground, I'm happy to just torrent the series. I'm just saying there's no difference, legally or morally, between keeping a backup copy of something you no longer own or simply torrenting it.

        • -2

@gilbarc: ahh ok, I assumed you are against torrenting too. I personally dont torrant so perhaps it is me all the way up there, on the moral high ground.

          Arrrrgh me matey

" no, its a back up copy of something i owned. I did not redistribute in any way."

Something that you no longer own so your "back up copy" becomes a pirated copy.

        • @pointless comment: Nope, I'm just smart enough not to post here boasting about my piracy exploits ;)

        Uncalled for

        • +2

All part of the airing of grievances

    • +2

I bought it for $50 off gumtree a year or so ago (then i ripped it and re sold it for $55)

This cool story, brought to you by Bro Incorporated. Thank you pointless comment for your riveting life lessons.

      • Bro incorporated? Again with the sarcasm?

  • Wow, nice price for Christmas. I have these sitting on a drive but wouldn't mind a disc version.

  • +2

Agree this is an awesome price. I paid around $70 for my box set but that was probably 6 years ago.

    • +1

Same here but was worth every cent. Time to watch them again.. not that there is anything wrong with that. :-)

      • +3

Yes agree, and the box set I got came with the bonus DVD of Rochelle Rochelle (OK joking but couldn't help myself).

        • I see that Rochelle Rochelle is now out in HD on blu ray!

        • +2

          @xywolap: What about CheckMate?

        • @D1977: I prefer Death Blow, Sack Lunch was crap though…

  • +2

I still don't get why a HD version hasn't been made available (they broadcast a remastered HD version)

    • And Hulu streams all the episodes in HD as well.

    • +8

Probably waiting til DVD is officially dead - would probably be one of the best selling box sets of all time - blu ray version is Jerrys pending retirement fund

      • +2

How many more Porsches does he need? ¬_¬

      • +4

        Gold Jerry Gold!

      • +3

Jerry doesn't need a retirement fund. He is loaded already. He is still getting millions per year from reruns all over the world. Good on him, Larry and he worked their back sides off and created one of the best, if not the best, TV series of all time. BTW, I'd still buy the Blu-ray anyway.

      • +1

Maybe if they focused more on Blu Ray rather than DVD they could help to bring about DVD's demise.

  • Ill pick this up in store over the next week or so.

  • +1

    I want bluray

    • +5

      No bluray for you…

      • +7

        Come back.. ONE YEAR

      • +4

        Come back one year, NEXT!

    • Same - this and Stargate SG1. Why won't they make the Blurays?!

  • -1

Weren't the "HD" eps all badly cropped or something?

    • Only occasional shots, Most of it looks natural imo

  • +2

BLLLUUURAAYYYYYY. Ain't nobody got time for 32 DVD's

  • Great price, thanks OP!
Tip: Don't bother with Click and Collect which is an extra $3 and limited to certain stores - just call your local store and ask them to hold it for you (if they have stock of course).

  • This used to sell for over $200 back in 2006-2007. I am a seinfield fan and I really wanted the boxset in 2006. Waited for months for price to come down and no sales.

So I was forced to buy the bootleg version from asia for $45 in 2007. I would've bought the real thing if it was reasonably priced. The bootlegs where very high quality though. looked like the real thing in every way except the box it came in looked different. I later saw people selling the same bootleg copy on ebay for $80 and trying to pass it off as the real thing.

So I was forced to buy the bootleg version from asia for $45 in 2007

      Forced?

  • wow… Blu Ray 3 discs. think I'd rather wait for a decent price on that to avoid all that disc swapping.

  • +10

Just in time for Festivus! Thanks OP, I will make a donation in your name to The Human Fund.

    • -2

I think Festivus is actually in July…

      • +2

I thought Festivus… was for the rest of us???

  • is this in store only? I don't have an option to buy. it just makes me search for stock

  • I have no doubt this will get a Blu-ray release soon, it took the X-Files years(although the 2015 miniseries finally pushed them over) and now it's finally gotten one.

  • … while your getting your nostalgia fix Magnum P.I.: The Complete Series

  • +2

    Can't wait for Blu-ray release

  • One left at the chadstone store

    • Offer started today and runs till 17/12/15, so they should have more stock coming in, otherwise get a rain check.

  • if only they brought out "the wonder years" in a boxed set

and yes i realize they havnt, wont & never can

    • +1

They have, but it's region 1 and a bit on the expensive side. At least it features most of the original soundtrack, which many never thought would happen - in that sense, it's been worth the wait. Much better outcome than for shows like Northern Exposure which had most of their music replaced to cut costs.

      • I really considered getting that Wonder Years set - but apparently the video quality is atrocious. Maybe one day we'll get a Blu-ray version of that - but then perhaps the source material is just not good enough.

  • +1

So whats the deal with the Blu Ray release date?

  • Really good DVD box set, so many extra features.

  • I'd only be interested in seasons 1-7. Once Larry David left the writing team, the show became detached from reality, and characters doing all this unrealistic and outlandish crap.

  • <Seinfeld voice>Why…do people…buy DVDs…..Who are…these PEOPLE?</Seinfeld Voice>

  • This appears be $79 now.

    • Thanks. Deal marked expired.
