TDK A28 TREK Flex Wireless Speaker $50 @ Dick Smith

80

Was looking around for a Wireless Speaker for a Christmas Gift; found a Decent Deal on a TDK Model from Dick Smith.

It seems its been cleared as its also Half Price at JB HI FI - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/ipods-docks-fitness/wireless-speak…

It's not available on website but seems to have a bit of stock in stores in Victoria. Not sure exactly how much left…

TDK isn't a big player in the Wireless Bluettoth Speaker Category but the reviews it has are solid - http://www.techradar.com/au/reviews/audio-visual/hi-fi-and-a…

Yes they are - they have sold them for many years and most are uniformly crap. They are just low-cost budget items.

Why did you title this "wireless speaker' if it is Bluetooth?

Do you normally use wired bluetooth?

      • -1

It's not about "wired bluetooth", but rather that "Wireless" often uses protocols OTHER than Bluetooth.

Consider "wireless" mice and keyboards - they usually do not use Bluetooth (for some stupid reason only known to the manufacturers). Many 5.1 speakers use wireless for satellites and/or Sub, yet they don't use Bluetooth.

And these "non-Bluetooth" protocols are usually limited in application - for example, cannot use in Linux, or from an Android or an iPhone.

So referring to the device as "Bluetooth" in the title will tell us that they are wireless AND tell us the protocol (Bluetooth).
