  • The Music Flow app is not exactly great, but these work fine as bluetooth speakers.

    No airplay though.

    • I agree the Music Flow app (Android version) is not WOW, but at least get the job done. I spent good amount of time to get it to work (Multi-MusicFlow or Multi-Bluetooth speaker to play one music source at the same time). The sound quality is good.

I've got five of these set-up, and using the Android app, and I think they're brilliant, and don't have any problem with the app either.
Also no need for the bridge if you can connect one speaker to the router.

    • I bought the H3. The LG app on ios was crap and barely usable (may have been updated since then). It's now being used as an expensive bluetooth speaker. I ended up buying the Samsung equivalent, and they (and their app) were much much better.

Dammit… I paid $158 for the H5 when JB hifi had their 50% off.
    I feel ripped off. :(

    • Can you purchase from HN and return the JB one?

      • Not after I dropped one… it still works. lol
        Anyways… I couldn't be bothered. ;)

        • What I mean is buy the HN one, put the new speaker and everything new back into the JB box. Return as brand new. Might work with the same batch number.

        • @mikhaelkin:

I know what you meant, but like I said… I couldn't be bothered.
It's only money… wait… why am I on Ozbargain? lol

          @starionx:

          gasp ONLY money?!?

Oh my poor heart… You blasphemer!!!

  • Wait… what voucher?
    Details please.

  • Can these speakers be used for "surround sound" with one of the LG soundboard? e.g. To provide 5.1 Dolby discrete sound sound?

    • Yes. There is a special mode called Home Cinema Mode.

      From LG:
      Bring home the cinema experience.
Enjoy surround sound! Combine the Music Flow Soundbar to
your network and link it with a pair of Music Flow speakers*
      positioned as rear speakers.

      • Thanks mikhaelkin but I don't think that answers the question. Rear speakers could just be stereo. Need to find out if it's separate, discrete 5.1

  • Is the h5/h7 recommended as a good speaker purely to use for Bluetooth? I don't need the fancy other thing but seems like a good price.

    • +1

If you are buying just as a bluetooth speaker, then no app is required. Can play music via bluetooth from any music player. However, if you need to setup multiple speaker to play simultaneously, the app is essential.
To answer your question, h7/h5 is a good bluetooth speaker for the price.

      • Thanks for the reply. So can I play YouTube audio on this through Bluetooth and whatever else? Only reason I ask is I have a sound touch 30 and it doesn't have Bluetooth and the app sucks, and you're limited to Spotify and Pandora pretty much.

        • You can play audio from your smart device through bluetooth. H7/H5 have both BT and NFC connectivity.

  • can't complain with the price but as mentioned, the app is really buggy on ios with rare updates from LG. I've got both this and the previous gen of the equivalent Samsung Multiroom speakers and would rate the latter higher due to the better app

  • I have the H7 and H5 and can't complain. The initial connection was painful as I followed the instructions step by step. Then thought to do what i thought was logical and connected immediately. The speakers updated the firmware and its been happy days since. Considering a second H7 on this deal.

    • Is the h7 worth the extra $50?

  • I'm looking to get these to work with my new LG TV, is that possible? I'd need the R1 and a sound bar too?
    thanks
