i just bought one, total price is 40.98, received confirm email.

  • It says on the linked page pretty clearly "Shipping cost is $5.99" shrugs

    • It also says on the linked page

"Occasionally, some items offered on 1-day may require extra shipping charges due to their size or weight."

      shrugs even more…

  • just bought one also, $40.98

  • LOL $5.99 to send 20kgs! hahaha Bargain!

    • bwahahaha! If they actually ship them, they'd have to be losing money!

I would go for this although i dont use my credit card on the net , wish they had paypal.

I like how they have an option to use the checkout without creating account

    • Seriously? I am intrigued — most banks cover fraudulent transactions these days? Are you concerned with someone intercepting the session and cracking 128-bit RSA? Would you consider Paypal safer?

      • i dont like the hassle and i am lazy its a lot of work using credit card

        1) getting it out of wallet
        2) turning over to see extra code
        3) slamming head against table when find out card expired
        4) cleaning card of crack/cocaine so i can actually use it( note i dont actually take drugs , yet)
        5) using the number pad on keyboard (swear i never would)
        6) paying a merchant fee to use it
        7) Actually picking up the phone and talking to the bank when having a problem

Safer i would say, but yes i prefer paypal , 128 rsa so yesterday

Dont forget about PAYING the bill at the end of the month or never paying it be in debt for ever!

          • -1

@Turd: Bloody hell how could i forget that one :) thanks

            • +2

@Mikinoz: I think your problem is that you don't buy enough. I know my number, code and expiry date by heart. :p

              • -1

@Funky Moose: That could be 1 of them :)

              • @Funky Moose: same same. it's kinda scary sometimes that you can rattle off your cc details so quickly but yet if someone asks how old you are you sit there with a moments pause! :-P

        • +12

Probably would take less time than typing out that comment.

          • +1

@alfy: True but this was more fun & rewarding

          • +1

@alfy: Too true, he's probably paranoid from all the drugs.

On the product 10kg each dumb bell, you wont get results with that!

            • @mobius: Or a single 20kg dumbbell, which you could get results with :-)
Just ordered a set as the current set in my house keeps getting nicked by other family members.

            • @mobius: On the contrary, you can use these for movements that require very little weight such as rotator cuff work or warming up the shoulders. I'm thinking about getting these as an extra set for my home gym for that very reason. It'd save me the hassle of loading and unloading my pairs of olympic diameter dumbbells when I need low weights for external rotation exercises and such.

        • lol true! I prefer paypal these days as CC is so inconvenient :P

          • @WaywardOne: paypal is still awesome. but at least for me, CC is not a hassle because I know the numbers off by heart. You kinda have to when you're trying for those COTD 'crashoftheday' sales =0

        • life is hard.

  • Just ordered one. Great bargain.

  • +1

This is a good deal. If I didn't already have a dumbbell set I would definitely get it.

Don't know what its like, but get the "Sport Xlnce Weight Bench" from Big W for $98 bucks and you have a nice little home gym for less than $150! You could probably find something similar for less but it includes 30kg's of weights… first page on their catalog on sale 25th February. Here is the link: http://catalogues.bigw.com.au/portal/

    • I have that too… but you could always buy these dumbells, take off the weights, and add them to the weight bench as well ;)

    • Thanks for the post i am getting the bench press and weights asap

i bought the boxing tower last time , its exellent even the speedball is pretty good

    • I got these dumbbells even though I have 2 sets at home already. Besides the great bargain, it'll save me time from continuously changing weights for the various exercises. Makes me lose intensity.

  • Just got myself a set :) awesome buy! amazing they can ship it for $5.99

  • Terrific! I got myself a set too. $5.99 for delivery is simply lulz

  • +1

cheers ericookie, good bargain considering i paid 75+ for some of these around christmas

  • Dammit, I though I didnt need any more crap.. and along comes this. ordered

Gosh the shipping really does make it a bargain. I hope these weights aren't too cheap and they disintegrate the moment I pick them up.

  • +1

lol If you are looking for a real bargain on weights, look at ebay…..

Bought 160KG olympic barbell set (inc oly barbell and ezcurl bar olympic) for 200$ =] And another 60KG, DB, Weight stand, power cage and bench for 100$…

    :D

+1 however for the shipping cost haha :D

OR If you'r looking for an even better bargain on weights just lift your Girl friend once a night! " POW! :)

      • +2

I dont think I can lift 175kg just yet

        • Start by investing in a PlayTV so she can tape Biggest Loser… Sooner or later she will be into the double figures :p

        • Take up running and run away… ;-)

    • I think it is a great bargain as they are new and don't have someone else's sweat to clean off!

Like someone else above, I paid $70 for a similar set just before Christmas.

      • lol.. They are weights. They weight the same wheather they are new or old. In my case, I cleaned the weights and repainted them (10$ in paint) and they look as good as new :p

        Who needs new weights :D

        and lawl 175 kg

        • i dunno. they'd be losing a certain amount of grams every time that they get dropped. your 20kg could end up being 19.87kg…

          • @kermit3169: …but then you have to add on dust, grime and dried sweat so should be back to 20kg ;-)

  • far my biceps r gonna go pop

  • got a set of those. great deal.

I am just wondering that “Sport Xlnce Weight Bench” from Big W for $98 mentioned by charltz.
Is it a good deal ?
What about that Action Home Gym $298.00 ?

My wife just terminated her membership at Fitness First and I need something like that for her (and for me ;-) ).
Then probably the only thing I'll need to buy is a treadmill.

    • +1

Try the boxing station then , my body fat is down to 8% compared to gyms etc bout 12% was the best i could get

    • The weight bench at big w looks pretty good to me, i might pick that up also. As for the home gym, I find none of the equipment quite works well enough. Between a bench, bar bells, dumb bells and a bar to do chin ups you have yourself pretty well covered id say ;) just need the motivation

  • if you want to reduce body fat eat only "ZERO" fat foods small portions 6 times a day Zero sugar no Salt, cut out all "drinks" other then "water" eat high fiber foods and do max heart rate running for 2 hour each day! 3-4% body fat is what you will end up with!

( Eat Fish Baked grilled or steamed, a few nuts a day (almonds, walnuts, macadamias) a good mix of steamed vegies, + Mushrooms red kidney beans, a bit of fruit and snack on carrots and celery. :)

You can make up your own mix of healthy foods to eat its easy!

Eating right and "sprinting" with high heart rate exercise is the best way" to lose weight

    • "if you want to reduce body fat eat only “ZERO” fat foods small portions 6 times a day Zero sugar no Salt"

If you eat zero fat you will get very sick. Your body needs small amounts to survive.

"Eat Fish Baked grilled or steamed, a few nuts a day (almonds, walnuts, macadamias)"

Nuts are full of fat. You contradicted yourself within one sentence.

"Mushrooms red kidney beans, a bit of fruit"

Also fruit is full of sugar, which is another one you said should be "zero". And even with beans and fish you're looking light on for protein which means slow muscle growth.

      • …If you want to lose fat Calories in < Calories used

Best done with healthy food but whatever.

      • under 6 nuts and 1 piece of fruit a day to give your body the small ammount of fat it requires.
Nuts and mushrooms also have protein :)

But its just a mix of foods.. your better off making your own mix at the end of the day if your not moving enough you'l never lose the weight!

    • Almonds are actually very high in carbs. I thought that if you want to lose weight then you need to cut out the carbs!

  • Wow, that didn't last long. Next time I won't waste time reading comments first.

  • Expired :(
Sounded like a good deal though!

  • Dammit.

  • Bugger, I was just looking for this! Anyone knows some comparable deals (say, around $50 for Sydney area)?

    • check ebay~ :P

  • received today~ "_" so… heavy

    • how are they? fairly good quality?

what postage method did they use for delivery, and did it come from Australia?

      • Got mine today. Postage is by Australia Post eParcel, and package came from NZ.
Looks pretty sturdy and wont break in a hurry and package is about 22kgs
        good deal

        • crazy heavy that box. yes it is sturdy. definitely worth it. obviously just wait until the site offers the sale again and i bet it will disappear in a heart beat. even comes with instructional booklet in case you dont know how to lift weights (okay, so it's actually useful information but yeah)

  • I got mine yesterday and yes, it was a pleasant surprise! Very heavy, and very sturdy, well worth the price.

    <—- Happy customer

  • its the 11th of feb and i'm still waiting for mine to come in the mail! :(
