Pair this with a 3 way mirror for an easier self hair cut

    • +1

      exactly. Makes it a cinch.

    • +3

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been using just a standard mirror the last decade but just decided to purchase one after seeing your comment.

I found this one on Amazon that seems to be the cheapest out of all the ones on Aliexpress, eBay, Amazon that have good lighting: https://www.amazon.com.au/Rechargeable-Way-Mirror-LED-Light/…

    • Not sure if you're joking or serious, but with the price of a haircut these days, I'd really like to learn how to do it myself.

Is it easy to do your own hair with this mirror? I'd think I'd be ok doing the sides, but trying to do the back and getting a fade in might be a bit tricky.

Any youtube tutorials you followed or guides?

      • I am serious and haven't paid for a haircut since Nov last year (when I got this remington).

For a short cut with a certain number all around, it is very easy. It is more complicated when you are trying to include fade into your cut.
The 3 way mirror makes it easier, but it is not going to magically turn you into a barber. There will be a learning curve and you will need to get more experience to get better (you will get some a couple of bad hair days, well at least that happened to me ;p).
I am very happy that I can just cut my own hair at home whenever I feel like it. I am aware that the result isn't up to par with a professional, but the convenience is a trade off that I am willing to make.

If you search for 3 way mirror self cut, youtube will give you plenty of tutorials. Have a look at them first before deciding that this is the way you want to go. Good luck :)

got these a couple of months ago, was pretty hot on the weekend so gave myself a quick buzz in 5 min. Quick, simple, no fuss. Heaps of timed saved by not going to the barber, waiting, taking ages to get hair cut, going home.

  • +2

oh wow.. this is a fantastic deal. Shaves my head in a few minutes, and I paid close to double and am completely happy with it.

  • At this price I'm grabbing one as a backup. They are awesome.

  • Any good for shaving the body?

  • +2

lately ive also been cutting my own hair as well, no way im forking out $30-50 for a shitty 10 min cut

its a little tricky at first but not as hard as you'd think

    • +3

      my COVID days acquired skill

  • Good device. Too wide to cut my own head unless going for a uniform length, good to use on the kid.

  • +2

good for kids haircuts? $25 a kid is unsustainable at the barber

    • That's what mine is used for.

  • -1

Will this work on my balls?

    • Won't if you can't reach them

    • +7

I mean, it probably would. No idea why you’d want to cut your balls off though ?

      • +3

tough economy for kids and vasectomy

    • Probably wouldn't unscramble your eggs.

    • Yes, it’ll take them right off! You’ll be singing like a soprano in no time haha

    • Username checks

  • Do these have lithium batteries inside or the shitty NiMH ones?

  • +1

    Agent 47 approves this deal.

    • +2

I’ve got one, it’s good but it doesn’t get that close.

I have to go over with my Philips One Blade to get 47 bald.

  • It's funny how marketing calls something a "technology".

    • +3

Surely there’s already models with “AI” out there? 🤢

  • +5

anyone know if these newer models can still work with the power cord in? I had an old one but battery wore out and a shame can't run it with the cord plugged in

    Edit: Corded use:
    • For corded use connect the product to the adaptor, then to the mains
    power outlet.

    answered in the manual

the good guys $62 via their price beat button and free uber delivery, or 12% cashback via top cashback brings it to $59 if anyone wants to shave even more off the price :D

    • Thanks. Got to finally use the $20 90day credit, that I never know what to use them on.

      • +1

Trick is to get multiple gold services extra so you can use all 3 at once for up to $60.

  • anyone know if these are waterproof enough to use in the shower?

    • I have same question. Old model works fine but was advertised as water proof, this one doesn't have the same advertising so I'm concerned.

    • The amazon page says:

      Fully washable

Once switched off & unplugged, rinse the appliance under a tap or wipe with a damp cloth for easy cleaning.

which implies that its probably fine, but i wouldn't use it under running water

My delivery arrived yesterday evening. Took a while to unbox without damaging the packaging. It was like a puzzle box.

  • Anyone know if this is also good for trimming body hair? (Excl. 🥎 s of course). My Philips OneBlade is horrible at it

    • Reviews say it doesn’t cut very close, so probably no.

      Your 🥎🥎 will be prickly.

Just bought from JB HiFi for $52 (sticker price $129). They matched Good Guys price of $62 then I used my $10 perks code to bring it down to $52.00 (as mentioned above - Good Guys selling for $67 but the price beat button reduces their price to $62). Good day shopping thanks OP
