Fitbit Charge HR - $159 Dick Smith or $151 Officeworks Price Match

60

Certainly not the greatest FitBit deal, but with OW above DSE right now (http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/fitbit-char…) it means you get the 5% price match, bringing it down to almost $150.

Will we get another sweet deal before Christmas, probably, use this for backup :)

the code works for Fitbit charge HR Large Black.. but not Plum (both large n small)

  • Will OW match that?

  • It is Still $150 at Telstra too and has been for a couple weeks now. Obviously DSE for $129 is better if you can get it. Have price matched a few this way.

  • If you're getting OW to price match, Telstra have them for $149.25 delivered which OW had no issues price matching for me. https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/wearables/fitbit-ch…

    • yesterday I went to OW chatswood and see if they can price match for me. I wait for like 7 mins and the staff looked at Telstra's webpage very very seriously and then she came back and told me : she can't do the price match for me because only Telstra member can buy that online. and I was like… then I said, alright, give me 2. And after that, I double checked Telstra's webpage and they didn't said any "membership exclusive" things. I just feel so bad about OW's staff at chatswood. whatever, My friend didn't like it. so I am gonna return one of those today.

No GPS so no good for runners.

    • Just those runners with no sense of direction ;-)

Really, these devices are just for fun and a bit of motivation…..even more complex systems only give you more to browse after a workout.

GPS is great, but for most it isn't a necessity. Just something to browse when home unless it has navigable maps and then that's for speciality runners who actually need guidance.

What counts more is heart rate and adjusting pace to keep a desired heart rate.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but can you say why GPS is a must for runners??

To give accurate times and distances…the most important things about running.

Smartphone - GPS, music and sync HR to your favourite app :)

        • @hoxygt:

Which works and is fine, but a lot of people also dont want to run with their phone and/or music.

        • I see your point, especially if you don't run regular courses and it is nice to see speeds for particular sections, or if you run that extra block. Again though these things are more eye candy when checked on your computer. I actually use a proper running watch and it is nice to see distance vs time vs heart rate and compare over a monthly/yearly period for improvement.

Funnily enough the fitbit gives pretty accurate distance compared to the GPS, however the heart rate not so compared to a chest band. I think this is partly due to the interval a reading is taken, but seems to miss peak heart rates for bursts.

There isn't a comparison for serious running but to say this is no good for runners is not true…just depends how much you are in to gadgets and data.

          http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/02/fitbit-charge-review.html

Very in depth review of these fitbits, plus heaps of other gadgets and running watches.

        • @noise36:
Yeah absolutely always check his reviews out before buying anything. The guy does amazing work

Found the fitbit to be spot on at rest but wildly different during exercise. As with his, my heart rate showed very different patterns. Also looking at last run, fitbit average 135bpm, max 159… chest strap 152bpm, max 173.

Hmmm…just noticed the calorie counts are actually exactly same and the run distance .1km off when shown on their own data pages on the computer. Seems that fitbit are making revisions from linked accounts. Pretty cool but now not sure of the fitbit accuracy after all

  • Bought one from DS today
officeworks price was $163 and JBhifi price was $174 around my area.

  • xmas30 code is not working for me for black large or small for click and collect. Is it still valid?

    • +1

Yep not working for me either now.

  • Any deals going better than this post?

    • I got one from Harvey Norman with the $25 off first online order deal. $138
