25% off All Wearables at Telstra (Samsung Gear S2 $374.25, Fitbit Charge HR $149.25 & More)

First posted deal so any feedback appreciated.

I was in the market for a Samsung Gear S2 Classic and stumbled upon this in my local Telstra store, confirmed it's also available online. Unfortunately was told the Gear S2 Classic is only available in selected Telstra stores, so next stop is Telstra on Sydney George St to see if they have stock.

  • Great price on the S2. Wish they offered the classic.

    • Ditto…

my one I got from Samsung last week already has a problem, so maybe the experience store will confirm its needing replacing I might ask for a refund, or refund difference, and go across to Telstra store and buy if in stock.

      • What kind of issues are you having?

        • Yesterday is got stuck in stand alone, even though my phone said it was "connected".

I tried both light and factory/hard reset, including clearing the phone's app cache for the Gear app and plug in, and it still sits @ "Setting Up" on the phone.

The bluetooth pairing with phone happens fine.

If I disable the bluetooth on phone when trying to set up, then re-enable it, then the app seems to think it becomes connected, but the watch thinks it is still "Setting Up".

I can either send away or go to Experience store, so as I'm down the road for work, I'm heading there soon.

        • @pax:
Ah ok. Sounds like a software issue. Good luck

          @snagseb:

          Solved!

Looks like you need to keep all the Samsung Gear related apps in sync (my phone is not a Samsung, so there are extra apps).

There is nothing I could see indicating this, and I only updated 2 of the 3 apps. Worked in store, and as soon as I updated the last app, it started working fine.

They also updated the OS on the phone while I was in there.

        • @pax:
Nice one. Good to see you got it working. Can't wait to get one.

They do! Just spoke to someone in Telstra George St opposite the Apple store and they confirmed they have Gear S2 Classic in stock for $449 (reduced from $599)!! :)

Bizarrely they're only selling the Classic in flagship stores…although the guy didn't know where these flagship stores actually were.

      • +1

Err.. 400 George St.. IS the flagship store.. What the?

      • Walked by during lunch, no stock with classic

    • Gear s2: wonder which apps work on IOS

  • +1

No Gear VR? Pretty keen to get my hands on the new one

    • hope the new one will cost less than $149 AU

    • Sold out at all the US big name stores, I wouldnt hold your breath!

    • hoping its atleast announced for Australia soon. <$150 would be nice. Will look into freight forwarding from amazon if i have too

Says 96.75 for the garmin vivosmart. https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/wearables/garmin-vi… but shows 111.75 in cart.
Looks like a price error. One may want try in store or price beat@Officework.

  • Cheers OP. That's one present sorted for the missus.

    • What your missus gets more than one?

      • +1

Yeah…………. Unfortunately I set the bar too high early on, now she expects more every time. I've dug myself a hole I'll never be able to get out of!!!

        • now she expects more every time

Not to be judgy, but yikes good luck with that….

        • +4

NOoooo… ur ruining it for everybody dude,.. low, low, set it low.

        • @ippy: hahaha thanks, I need all the luck I can get!!!

        • @sachz: if only I knew this 5 years ago :(

  • If only the gear S2 only supported Android Wear.

    • +1

      Supported?

      You mean ran Android Wear?

The fact that is it an optimised OS on Tizen brings it it's extra battery life, and I only need to charge it every 3 days.

      • +3

Good luck with future support. Just like my Gear Fit. IT doesnt have an ecosystem to support it.

Thanks OP, Price matched the Fitbit Charge HR at Officeworks for $141.79.

  • +1

I grabbed the Charge HR from the Telstra shop in City Cross Adelaide - $149, no mess, no bother.

    • ditto, grabbed charge HR for $149 in telstra CBD shop in sydney… no mess, no bother either… finally a good pickup price!

  • +1

Yeah anyone who bought the Charge HR keep your receipt handy you will need it in about 3 months time…..

    • Why??

      • i have had my charge since feb or should i say i got my original in feb i am on my 9th replacement which is also dodgy
        1) fitbit flex (battery issues took it back and got charge)
        1) button fell out
        2) turned itself completely off constantly
        3) would not hold charge
        4) band broke
        5) band seperated from tracker
        6)band issues again
        7) would not sync to phone then band split
        8) will not sync to phone band broken on delivery

        • I am having problem with band.
How did you claim warranty? Did you bring it where you bought or contact Fitbit?

        • @reservin:
i've contacted fitbit most of the time
other times when i could be bothered waiting 2 days to hear from them i returned to purchase store

  • Which one is better Fitbit Charge HR or Garmin Vivosmart?

    • Garmin Vivosmart would be my suggestion over the fitbit anyday of the week

      • The screen on fitbit looks very small :)

  • Oz-bargainers, make sure you suss out some of these prices and compare them with other retailers. Some are a good price, others not so much (despite the sale). For instance, the Fitbit Flex - Slate is under $90 at a number of retailers (i.e. Jb and Officeworks).

  • any website offering cashback? like cashrewards etc.

  • What is the huawei band like, the $60 one?

    • Piece of wood (work)

  • Thanks OP! Went to Officeworks and got extra 5% off! Winner :)

    • hmm.. Its less than $110 at Dick Smith.

  • fitbit flecks $50 red or tangerine

  • Harvey Norman price matched the Gear S2, managed to stack with the Amex offer. Unfortunately, despite trying multiple email addresses, I could not get a stack with the $25 newsletter discount.

They price matched via online chat.

Note there appears to be a better in-store deal for the Classic @$324, must surely be a mistake!

  • Hi smoke87
How did u get the Samsung gear s2 classic for $324? Im desperate for one!
