Ive had the 1 and now 3 45mm
Mine have never cracked but I do use a spigen case to protect it because if my line of work.
I recommend the case for anyone buying the watch and might be exposed to damaging situations.
Scratches quicker than my skin. Not sure how tough they are in terms of breakages though.
Its worth noting, one of the new Pixel Watch 4 features is a completely user repairable design, so the screen can be replaced if needed. iFixit already have instructions on how to do various repairs on it. This is alone is the big reason I am seriously considering buying one.
There are case options as well like this that cover the edge to help prevent scratches, also makes the watch look a lot more like a regular watch with a bezel:

Cases unfortunately make it look bulky and ugly in my opinion but yea if you're happy with a case. They're great watches
This is true, that being said, the Spigen Air is one of the more thinner case options, there are bulkier ones like the Rugged Armor model.
But in the end its personal choice. While its not my thing, big chunky watches like the Casio G-shock have a surprisingly large cult following.
I guess the advantage of the bezel free Pixel Watch design means you have that freedom to have either the minimalist or that chunky style with the addition of some accessories.
I'm going to upgrade from a 1 LTE. My 1 has a couple of scratches but is very usable. I've really liked wearing my 1- it has held up better than I thought it would (my previous Fossil smartwatches lasted a couple of years only) and I think they look really good.
Apparently the Pixel 4 has stronger glass. But they say that every year….
thing that shits me about these watches is you only get three years security updates - not ideal if using for google wallet etc.
What LTE mobile plan options are there? Last I checked they were expensive postpaid plans with either Telstra or Optus @ ~$60/month. No MVNOs

You can do the same with pixel watch by using old apk of pixel watch app I guess
Tried that on a Pixel 3 watch but couldn't get it to work. Why I'm selling it now in classifieds.
Try this

The first comment says it worked for pixel 4. And next comment has link to apk
@hopper: Thanks for this, very interesting… If anyone has any success, would be great to report back here. I'm not sure how WhatsApp would work noting that it's connected to your number?
I'm on boost but wondering if there might be a way to do something like this to stay connected without my phone…
Just Google "shared number"… I pay $10 on top of my plan with More telecom.
Optus only allow this on their month to month plans haiyaaa
Not Google watches
Usually just add $5 to your plan if you're on one, then share the data
I think I'm paying $5 a month on Telstra to share my number with the watch.
Man I want a discount on the WIFI version
Wifi 45mm was $622 on JB Business for me.
$609 for me but not worth it at that price even.
Annoyingly the Wifi version is not listed on the Telstra site yet, so no discount for that.
Unless you often leave your phone at home when running or something similar, I think the LTE version is unnecessary.
Plus you will have increased battery drain. The Wifi version overall is the better option imho.
Telstra don't sell the WiFi version unfortunately
Yeah, makes sense given the Wifi version isnt going to get people to buy extra or multi device mobile plans.
Hopefully there will be some good deals at the upcoming black friday/cyber monday sales.
I just got off the phone with JB Hi-Fi — they declined to price match the Telstra offer, explaining that their price match policy doesn’t apply when the vendor requires customers to sign up for an account before completing the purchase. Any suggestions?
the vendor
calling their partner in phone plans merely "the vendor" is wild
Same JB refusing to price match with Telstra
Wish they'd make a more rugged version. Too feminine for my hairy wrists.
Don't like the rugged cases for it?
Hadn't seen that. Not bad at all.
Shave your arms mate
I'm still waiting for Voda to support a pixel watch. I've heard murmurs they'll support 4 but we'll see… Voda have best deal for overseas roaming thus stuck with them.
When did people start to accept a watch at the price of a phone?
When did they not? At the time of release of any flagship smartwatch, there were always budget and midrange phones cheaper than it, no?
And the highest end watches from Garmin, Apple, and Samsung are capable of certain features that phones aren't equipped to do.
Price is no object if you care for your health.
How will this phone make me healthier?
Do you mean this watch?
Agreed, but it is inflation unfortunately, everything is more expensive now.
That being said, if you don't mind the older tech, there are good runout deals to be found on older models.
he's the best guy to watch.
I see what you did there.
I would have liked to see him comment on the 3 year updates thing ;(
Isn't apple 5?
Has anyone found a Telstra Wholesale provider which actually supports shared number on Pixel devices?
I can't stomach giving Telstra $60+ a month for a post paid plan.
I just bought outright from Telstra online on Friday, arrived today. Had to sign up for an Telstra ID obviously, but I'm with Optus. The watch is on the wrist today, all set up with near immediate Optus Number Share onboarding.
Cheers Op!
JB rejected the price match then I called Officeworks and they did a price beat in a couple of minutes.
Note: They did say no to the silver colour as it's on backorder with Telstra but worth a try if you still want it.
I think it's a great deal for something that just came out.
Includes free delivery or click and collect.
Officeworks price beat number is 1300 OFFICE (1300 633 423) then option 4.
Officeworks don’t price match Telstra!! You got lucky!!
Oh wow, didn't know that!
Anyone who used pixel watch before, how fragile is the curved glass
