Which Phone for The Missus?

Hi OZbargainers!

I have a dilemma here, my partner currently has a Samsung note 4 with 64GB expandable memory. I've just recently upgraded to the Nexus 6P (Awesome phone) but I don't know if I should give her my nexus 6 and sell off the Note 4 or vice versa?

My nexus 6 is smooth, battery life is amazing with 6.0 update, photos are pretty good!

Samsung note 4 - when updated to lollipop it was unusable laggy so I had to revert back to KitKat, other than that the phone is OK with stylus pen, multitasking windows etc.

What are your thoughts?

  • Your old one ;)

  • She should have the choice based on her own needs and preferences.

    • She asked me what I should do as she has no clue what is better for her

  • iphone gold with matching apple watch in gold. total cost: $16,000. kidding. most girls doesnt know how to use spen so no point giving them note series, get nexus, or huawei. something slim and metals

    • OK I might let her keep the nexus 6 considering I got my screen replaced, motherboard, battery replaced under warranty so basically it's a brand spanking new phone :D

This will keep the monthly plan to a minimum

Girls love notes. It has that pen to draw stickers and stuff and the face camera has some sort of beautify feature

  • I got her a Samsung Note 5, she loves it. I brought it outright from officeworks pricematch.

She writes shopping lists on it, and does little drawings using the pen.

  • Just out of curiousity, do you remember what version of lollipop it was?
Samsung's lollipop has been disasterous (even the 5.1.1 still haven't fixed some of the problems), but 5.0.1 was beyond awful. The problems that the 5.0.1 had were mixture of Samsung's mess up and Google's mess up (though looking at how some manufacturer's skin of Lollipop tried to address the issues by Google and didn't mess up like Samsung, I think Samsung is the main one to blame). That said, many of the problems were fixed on 5.1.1 so it might be worth checking. I am mentioning this, because buying a new phone costs money.

Nexus 6 wouldn't be a bad choice. Android N probably will bring multi-window feature (assuming that it's not going to be exclusively for the tablets), from Google AMA session on Pixel C. Even if they don't, someone will port it over and I think that's almost guaranteed.
