UPDATE

There's two cash back offers here:
1.) Nikon $100 cash back that's available at a lot of other retailers
2.) Nikon $150 cash back that's masquerading as a Bing Lee gift card. It's actually available at a handful of participating retailers: http://www.nikongiftcard.com.au/participating-retailers/

As per the Terms and Conditions of the $150 cash back, it is NOT available for online purchases

I did get store manager approval to apply the $150 cashback at the time of purchase. I also managed to get a small discount on the $899 ticket price so negotiate with the person in store.

It actually comes to $559.10 if you use the promo code ebay10 at checkout

      Ouch!

      • Yes, OP could have saved a few more $$$

        • Ye no biggie, i nearly paid $800. Update the title or am i meant to do that?

        • @lamanna: That's a good sport. You are obviously happy with the price you paid. Others here would not take that in the same spirit.

You can edit the post if you like to reflect the lower price, otherwise the title can be changed on your behalf. Being a first time poster the practise will do you good.

@unity1: Oh don't get me wrong, I'm filthy haha. I updated the post to clear a few things up.

    • Can you use the ebay10 code in store? if yes, then it is a great price. The $150 gift card redemption is not valid for online purchases as per T&C below;

" Eligible Product purchases must be made in-store only, online purchases will be deemed invalid, including purchases from the online store of a Participating Store.

      • How dodgy is that? The deal isn't even shown in store (or at least not the store I went into) but it is on the website.

      • You are right. Sorry I assumed the $150 GC was a Bing Lee promotion, but it's a Nikon promotion.

I do recall someone price matched this at JB HiFi during the DS $447 sale. I wonder whether they received the bonus $150 gift card.

      • So basically those who don't want to use voucher, can go online :)

        • Yes, if you use ebay10 you will get a discout of $89.90 but you wont be eligible for the $150 Bing Lee Gift Card

  • JB are offering their own $150 gift card with this camera so does that mean two $150 cards if buying from JB? One from JB and one thru Nikon?

    • No, just one $150 JB gift card, then you can apply for the $100 from Nikon.

It pays to shop around. JB offered me their 'best price' of $1318 on the Nikon D7200 on Monday, then a $150 gift card.

I ended up getting it from NoFrills (RYDA, an authorised Nikon reseller) via eBay for $1022 after the 10% discount and cash rewards. Then I claimed the $100 (which was approved in two days). I received the camera in less than 24 hours (all the way in WA). The final price for the body was $922.

    • Why would you buy from JB? The final price would be $749 and that is body only https://www.jbhifi.com.au/cameras/dslr/nikon/nikon-d5500-24m…

      • You can always go in store to haggle. I thought if you could get it down to bout $850 then $300 in gift cards and cash back would be pretty sweet deal!

        • Just negotiated a D5500 body for a family member at JB Rockingham store for $710. Went and paid, noticed no $150 gift card supplied. Went back and was advised because ticket price not paid gift card offer is not eligible. Got a refund since ticket price was $899 for body only.

I've just been advised via email that Bing Lee will post the $150 gift card for online purchases.

  • just called my local store, they say you can't use the $150 off the camera you are buying so the camera is still $899-$100 = $799, and the $150 cashback is only useful if you have a bing lee purchase. it may be different at other stores but locally I can't get them to match this.
