  • My 2 are out of stock.
I might go in personally, see if it slips under the radar. :)
If not would be funny to see their reactions.

    • They will hide them all in the backroom like with most deals

      • could always slip the worker a little something extra , go tag team possibly.

  • What's the saying about "If it's too good to be true……."

  • +7

I'm surprised people are actually thinking there is some hope OW will let this slip. Don't waste your time…

  • +1

why bother really? unless someone shows a receipt that is total BS!

  • +1

Went to Pitt St Store Sydney. They say it's a hack apparently. Not honouring. Not the Whammy!

  • +5

thats about all they are worth

    • -1

That sounds like opinion not a fact.

      • there is always an iphone hater is every thread, much like a PC master race gamer, just don't fuel their argument…

        • Yeah, people are happy to have opinions and throw out neg's on any form of internet discussion as that's much easier than writing a convincing argument or event posting links to support their belief.

  • nope does not work in Paypal either! :(

  • +1

Why can't I check them out? OW staffs must be hoarding them.

  • +4

  • +1

    Does DSE do price match?

    • No retailer will price match on a obvious price error.

    • 1 negative vote + 1 reply

Look like some people did try to buy these phone :-)

    • Not below cost price.

    • Hoard match perhaps. Just kidding, some DSE staff are quite good.

  • Just wondering how many people are placing orders successfully?

  • +1

    hot waste of time

    they will never honour it

  • All now unavailable online. Obvious error.

  • I get just past the paypal checkout when it says no stock please remove,
I also called a store and they scanned the product at $1000+

  • +3

it's due to the HarveyNorman lower price today and they just make it easier not to let you pricematch by putting $1 as 'mistake' :)

  • +1

Confirmed by officework stores, it's price error and Head Office will be changing price now.

  • Pricing Error ≠ Bargain. They wont honor it

  • +1

Called brissy and they just got an email, they are told by head office not to honour it.

    • -2

Funny how they needed direction from head office. Thought it would be blatant obvious. Not to mention the idiot employee who does honor would get his pay docked to cover the cost

      • I'd say head office was contacted by said "idiot" employee.
Head office then informs all staff not to honour a advertised price, which generally is meant to be honoured, but in this case goes against their own T&C's.
FYI pays would not get docked to cover costs as that would be illegal as the employee would have done nothing wrong until receiving the email from head office.

        • -7

Or just get sacked for incompetence.

        • @Gavman: I take it your angry Gavman, did an employee send you bankrupt when you were younger?

        • @Gavman: Is that clarification of your self worth ? The employee or was it intended in no context to be pointed at myself?
A terrible use of a derogatory word regardless.

  • Yeah can confirm mate works at a melbourne store, they been told the price wont be honoured

    • +1

      Haha, as if they would.
If they do, Apple would punish them big time.

      • Apple would then be performing obvious resale price maintenance, which is prohibited under our ACL……

        • They've been getting away with it for decades anyway…

  • +6

    HURRR DUURR CALL THE ACCC!

  • curious to see if they would deliver

  • most they will not.

  • Still showing a $1

  • Surely this is office works trolling ozbargain to get people visiting and talking about them

    • So a bad publicity is better than no publicity?

      • I don't think it's bad publicity considering it is a ridiculous price and not too many would really frown upon them if officeworks weren't to honour it

        • If that is the case, then OW is not trolling OB.

        • @edfoo: how so?

        • @cheesesticks: Since you said what OW did is not considered a bad publicity, and it is definitely not a good publicity. So I guess it is a "no publicity". I wouldn't call getting a no publicity as trolling.

        • +1

@edfoo: pricing error has given attention to officeworks which can be considered as publicity lol

        • @cheesesticks: OK, it gives bad publicity to OW then. It didn't give good publicity to them.

        • +1

          @edfoo:
Welcome to grey. Not everything is black or white.

        • @Vampyr: Or silver or gold…

  • +4

they've corrected their price. now at 968

  • +6

If people factor in their own wasted time on a deal like this, you actually lose money.

    • +9

      but gain fun!
      fun is priceless…

      • +2

I agree. It is a bit like Tattslotto. You try it just on the off chance you score.

        • +3

thats the whole point. the thrill when getting (or might) deals.
most of the time actually you waste time (start by checking ozb every 10 mins because afraid missing out, researching something to make sure you get the cheapest, price matching to store far away, regretting after few weeks when cheaper deals comes up, impulse buying, etc etc

        • @eisniwre: Ahhh - Buyer regret. I bought a HP X360 in silver and it is a really great machine, but they recently released it in Black and Copper and I have this insane desire to sell my current one to buy the new one.

        • @try2bhelpful: no worries, load off at gumtree asap, buy new colour, and move on to the next deals~ plenty here at ozb
