MacBook Pro with Retina Display 13-Inch 2.7GHz 256GB

Yeah I know, should have started looking sooner and with Colses DSE discount on giftcards and their recent 10% off Mac I could have gotten a decent deal.
But anyway, looks like Officeworks is the cheapest place atm to buy the MacBook Pro with Retina Display 13-inch 2.7GHz 256GB before Christmas? The refurbished ones on Apple website go for ~$100 less but for 5% more I'd rather have a brand new one.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Waste of money. Get a DELL XPS 13 or Surface Pro 4/Book.

If you still want this overpriced hunk of crap, then ask an Apple staff member online or in store for a 10% discount and they'll give you one. It still uses a 5th generation Broadwell processor. Their 15" flagship uses a Haswell processor.
Man Apple are slow with their release. I love how they don't include all the important tech specs on their website. You actually have to do the research yourself and go to a review site or ask their customer service for the detailed specs. Such dodgy sales tactics.

No wonder they lost $160 bn from their net worth

Yeah. I appreciate its the price we pay for being caught up in Apples ecosystem with pretty much all of our devices.

      • Officeworks and JB HiFi always match each other's prices and they usually sell it for 10% off. If I was you, I would wait 3 months and buy the MACBOOK PRO 2016 release. I was actually thinking about buying one because I needed a notebook with a longer battery life, but then I saw the new HP spectre range and fell in love with the shallow aspects of it such as its Rose Gold finish. It has good specs too.

        My sexy laptop:

Your "sexy" laptop wouldn't be worth much in 18-24 months time, compared to an apple device where it holds its value quite well. It also only has 8gb of RAM and no discrete graphics when compared to the similar mac mate. However, the 2 in 1 and it's colour does make it look appealing.

          @Google Chrome:

I didn't buy it in Australia. Got it in the US for a bargain and gonna claim some more money through tax. I don't even sell my laptops or Desktops so I don't care about its resell value.
Macbooks run OSX. Pretty useless to me.

        • @DisabledUser151258:

Yeah I doubt it, Mac users are generally a bit more cerebral than you appear to be.

The question wasn't "be a judgemental douche and tell me what else to buy" it was for a MacBook Pro. If you don't have something relevant to say, keep it to yourself.

        No, I rather say it.

  • Apple products are rarely discounted, especially current models. 10% is about the best you will find but the apple store will price match up to 10% if you find it cheaper. They will also do 12 months interest free if you want, 18 months for purchases over $2500.

  • Get 10% of in discount deals and if you buy <30days prior to leaving the country on holiday, get another 10% off for GST. Adds up!

    • Agh my Macbook died the day I got back from overseas, such a pain, no GST back for me.

The Good Guys have this model 10% off down to $2,069.10(RRP $2,299) until 16th Jan. You can use that as a bargaining chip at Office Works. Good Luck! http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/apple-macbook-pro-with-retina-…

    • Cheers mate. Saw that but OW has it for $0.10 to avoid price beat

You might be able to get David Jones to price match and if you then pay with gift cards bought with the Entertainment Book (cards have 10% extra value if I recall correctly) you'll wind up saving a further $180 or so. (EB is about $70.)

      • I will buy at least 5 for 10 cents. Can you provide a link. (I would buy 8, but I want a 30 cent cone later).

  • I just got officeworks to pricematch topbuy.com.au and it came to to a total of $1654.09 :)

  • I bought a Macbook pro 13 with retina display , 128 GB SSD in November 2015 . Want to get rid of it to get back to Windows . Let me know if anyone wants to take it from my hand. Ta
