Was at Westfield Doncaster this morning and the usual get-a-ticket parking system has been set aside for Christmas. Still a pain in the rear getting a space, but at least it's free if you are there for a few hours.
Hasn't Westfield Doncaster done away with tickets in favour of a permanent OCR system that detects registration plates CityLink-style?
So basically they can now tell how often people visit and with the right access you can pull the details of every car that has visited the centre.
No they are now using numberplate recognition all the time. It's free under 3 hours and you don't need to do anything. Just drive straight out. Over 3 and you need to go to a booth and enter your numberplate in, pay then you can drive out :)
My mistake, was not aware of that. Not a regular Westfield shopper!
