Dick Smith Incorrect Refund -$200 Short !

I made an order for the Huawei P8 $349 Deal from Dicksmith.

The order has been cancelled due to no stock in-store, and refunded back with gift card I used to pay with.

the order is $349, which should be refunded as $100 Dicksmith Giftcard X3 + $50 Dicksmith Giftcard X1

I received the Giftcard today and there was only $150 ($100 Dicksmith Giftcard X1 + $50 Dicksmith Giftcard X1)

Called the customer service and the staff had no knowledge how to do, then transferred me to the manager and the manager said it's not usual, it should be sent out with $100 X3 as invoice attached with the order.

I said the parcel is sealed when I receive it. And there's ONLY 2 Giftcard inside, $100 X1 + $50 X1. He then said need to investigate?

Anyone had similar issue before?

    Personally this sounds like an error and you are fixing it already with them. Not sure what there is to contribute in an online forum…
    Also, "Stole" seems a bit sensationalist and click baity.

      So if you purchase something at store and the staff give you $200 less change… then you asked the staff and they said need further investigate, I don't think it'acceptable claiming it's an error

        dude, just use some common sense. Most people or businesses aren't out there to rip you off. Saying that they will investigate it is the reasonable course of action to take.

        if someone came to your shop and told you that one of your staff shortchanged him $200. Do you just blindly give them $200 ? or will you try to investigate it by reviewing the POS, camera surveillance or talking to the staff ?

        People make honest mistake, especially when there is a large amount of repetitive and or unusual transactions

        You jumped the gun too quickly.

  • There's only one customer support officer so if you've called staff + manager you've called a store. Afraid you'll need to wait for Tuesday and contact online/head office.

    That's unfortunate though. It's hard to contact them near Christmas.

    You are in for months of BS to get your money refunded. Stick to your guns. Be prepared that it will probably take more of your time than it would take you to earn the $200 they've "misplaced". Just one of the many pleasures of "being DICKed™"
