Not a dupe at all, this watch isn't available online. And its a different model to the one in that post

  • Got it cheaper in store.

    • cheaper?! Can you elaborate please?

      • The store had a sign saying 389 as per other threads but when it scanned up it scanned as 324. I said no worries thank you here is my credit card.

    • How did you achieve this amazing price??

  • That's a ridiculously good price!?!

  • Awesome price! Nice work!!

  • Anyone knows if there are any flagship stores in Brisbane? I think from another thread, people said classic s2 only available at Telstra flagship stores? Thanks.

  • +1

Anyone know if Sydney will have the same price?

    • +1

Yes but looks like that price is for non classic only, Sydney store Telstra has the sign with $324,on table next to the price.

Hey guys I went to the George St Telstra and got it for $324 can confirm price and stock also end on the 31st!!!

        • Which one? Classic with leather band?

        • +1

          @eisniwre:yep s2 classic

  • That is a fantastic price. Well done!

  • Great price, how is the battery life of this bad boy? Can it rival a pebble time steel?

    • Not sure literally just got an hour or so ago. Will let you know.

    • of course it can not beat pebble time steel. But it can last of roughly 3 days, if you use properly. It is a nice watch.

  • Isn't this the price of the non classic version from Telstra?

    • -1

      Actually 35 cents cheaper ;)
      Ripper price

    • I am made the guy double check to make sure it was the classic.

  • Why do people prefer the classic over the other? What's the difference besides looks?

    • I went classic purely on looks. Standard just looks cheap. I dont think there is any major difference between them but i might be wrong.

    • +1

I found it harder to turn the wheel on the classic, despite it having grooves.

I think that leather is not good for a smart watch, if you're going to do any fitness tracking with it. Your sweat will deteriorate the leather. There's a reason why fitness trackers are plastic/rubber.

      • True that about leather but apparently any 20mm band fits. The non-classic has to use samsung's limited collection of watch bands.

You got the classic first then returned it for a non-classic?

        • I tested them both in store.

I got a non-classic. You're right about the bands being standard. The non-classic comes with a spare pair of bands which I wasn't expecting, so that's at least a bonus.

The rubber is more durable than leather though.

I think it's going to be expensive if you're just going to keep replacing your classic leather bands when they go off. Unless you're replacing them with steel or rubber..

  • I think ops got lucky. The price is for non classic, I think.

  • $324!!!!
I was already at Eastland and grabbed the last one from the store.
    Thanks op

  • That price, Should be just for non classic. Op is lucky.

Classic and non, only difference in band and band connector. The watch itself, same specs.

Samsung Sydney can't match Telstra, staff said this price is less than after staff discount

    • yeah, staff price is 359

I saw classic version in the same store at above listed price.

  • Yep mine is the sport. Not classic…still happy…

anyone else get classic by using this receipt as proof?

  • Thanks OP, I got Thegoodguys to price match and picked up a classic for $324

    • How? Telstra website has non classic only for $324

    • Are u able to put up your receipt from Good Guys?

Saw that some users couldn't get stores to price match telstra.

      • After 2 different online chats, and 2 phone calls it seems that not one of the Telstra stores in South Australia even stocks thr Classic.

        Does anyone know anything different?

  • So, I'm assuming people here think tizen is good? Compare with Android wear. Or simply don't care?

    • No Google Maps (or any google apps for that matter of fact) support might be a killer to some people.

Personally they reason why I'm reluctant besides the no Maps support, is because I can't install Secret Agent Watchface :(

I did go to HN to have a look at the black classic. God damn it's sexy though! Could very well be a game changer for me. Tossing up between this and the LG Urbane.

Huawei Watch black would be my #1 option but it's just too expensive :(

      • If you like secret agent stuufs you should get galaxy gear 1,it has camera and you can take phone call directly from the watch! James bond style ftw

        • I had the gear 1 with my note 3 but I sold out. I hate the rectangular look for a watch :(

        • @CVonC: I am still wearing gear 1 with my mobile, also note 3…

        • @eisniwre:

I wonder if any of the xda hackers will make a custom android wear rom or even a port. Doubt it though

        • @CVonC: but tizen has better battery life. I believe mine can last longer than gear s2.

        • @eisniwre:

i don't mind the nightly overnight charging tbh

        • @CVonC: but then you cant wear it to monitor your sleeping pattern thingie?

        • @eisniwre:

lol that doesn't matter to me.. sleep like a log ><

  • Anyone able to pick one up today??

    • I managed to get one at the George St store this morning at around 11! There was two left and it is definitely the classic!

      • Managed to call a store the geelong store in victoria and hes ordered one in. lucky i have family down there cause no one in Queensland had one

  • Tried matching price at the good guys casula, no luck!

  • +1

All the Telstra icon stores are having the classic ones for $324. Bought one from George st sydney this morning. They will have more stocks tomorrow.

  • Is it assumed that all Android watch apps work on the Samsung OS?

    I need IFTTT support.

  • Anyone manage to price match with HN via Live Chat for online purchase?

    • +2

I just tried it, sent the HN the link to the receipt image OP provided. He claimed it was a forgery, photoshopped. Lol. OK Telstra it is then.

      • I tried that too but when I did it they said they can only match the online price and I would have to go into store

  • Has anyone managed to pick one up today?

  • I bought 2 Samsung gear s2 classics for $648. Have the receipt. Can show you if needed.

    • Where did you buy from and could you show the receipt as well

      • +1

When I get back home I will Jezza. Ring telstra store and ask which is the closest store that has the classic. Don't mention the 35% mention that they have this watch even though it is not online, let them know only the big stores have them. Get then to look up gear 2 cla and they should find. Try another store if the first one doesn't find them. The Brisbane store has 2 and had them both sitting in the storage cabinet not ready to sell. I ask may I have them both because I drive a long way and they said yes. They scanned it into the computer at 324 I couldn't believe my eyes. It's a mistake on the system but they sold them because they are not aware how much they actually cost.

        • Yea thats my only problem I live in Queensland and the only store that has them is the Brisbane store and i work to much to drive the 2hrs to the store to get it

  • No stock at George St Sydney today. Can any Sydney folks confirm that this is the only Telstra store in Sydney that sells it?

    • Only the Sporty ones at Blacktown as well, staff did not really know anything about the classic, and thought that they only sold the sporty ones. I probably should have asked them to check the stock on their computer…

  • +1

The Indian staff at the Sydney Broadway store are refusing to offer the 35% off unless you sign up for a mobile plan with them. They wouldn't even scan the price at the counter and insist there is no need because the price is $499. Total arrogance

  • Telstra Macquarie Park shopping centre has gear s2 classic for $324. Just got one today.

  • Melbourne store on Bourke Street has around 20 in stock and scanned at $324 . Got 2 today plus sport silver also available

  • Melbourne store on Bourke Street not honoring it for $324, They are asking for $389 :-(

    • +1

Well it really depends on who selling you , some know of the price error . I came to the shop once and they quote @389 , come back again and @324 ;) Anyhow i guess their promote end now , new color coming soon :)
