Safe N Sound Kinetic Convertible Car Seat $149 (Was $299) @ Target

140

Not sure if you also get the 6% cashback using Cashrewards. Just saw this is on the Target website, seems like a good deal at $149 (was $299). Let me know what you think.

The Kinetic convertible car seat provides your baby a simple seat that is easy to install and use. Great for configuring three across the back, the seat's short installed depth provides comfort for the front seat passengers as well. Featuring deep contoured side wings to provide added protection in the event of a crash and retractable sliding stabilising bar in rearfacing mode to ensure the car seat does not rotate in the event of a crash. Includes shoulder pads, body insert and head pillow.

  • I would consider getting a capsule to last up to 6 months and then a 0-8yrs seat rather than a convertible. Also some seats do rear facing until 2 years old, so maybe just consider when you want to turn them around. Safe n sound has a scheme where they replace the car seat for free if it is in a crash, so might be worth thinking about buying that model. I know this isn't specific to the deal, just worth considering before you commit to a seat.

I would consider getting a capsule to last up to 6 months and then a 0-8yrs seat rather than a convertible.

The vast majority of babies will not be at the minimum height marker in the O-8 years seats by the time they are 6 months, and they really are far too wide for tiny littlies.

A couple of further points: Some babies will outgrow a capsule before reaching 6 months; and it is far safer for them to remain rear-facing for as long as possible. Turning at 6 months isn't a goal to be aimed for, it's the minimum permissible under law.

    • 0-8 seats are convertible too, unless you're talking about a 6m-8y forward-facing only seat.
