  • Amazon used to have much better quality gear for similar prices. Not sure if they still do, but if after snorkelling gear, its worth a look.

    • is it worth the wait when summer is here? wouldn't be cheap to post would it?

In my opinion, yes. Snorkeling is so much more fun when the equipment functions well (especially for inexperienced/kids). My issues with this set are: not tempered glass. adjustable fins, which are normally unreliable and uncomfortable. long stiff snorkel that will vibrate when diving.

Having a look at amazon now - id suggest a good start would be:

cressi marae mask - $18.47 US.
cressi gringo snorkel - $8.32 US. Alternatively if you don't dive, then many like a full dry snorkel like cressi dry snorkel - $16.85 US.

Couldn't spot any full foot fins for a good price, but this would be the expensive bit to post and may be better to try on locally so you can get the right size. Something like:

amart full foot rubber fins for $20.

That comes out a similar price in total for a better set.

        • My issues with this set are: not tempered glass. adjustable fins, which are normally unreliable and uncomfortable.

Adjustable fins are normal for scuba, but used with rubber boots.
I'd be very surprised if the glass is not tempered.

        • @manic:

Yep you are right, zooming on pic shows "tempered glass".

  • "50% off" home-brand at Anaconda is normal, not a bargain.

Would you trust a shop that doesn't even know the difference between silicon and silicone-rubber?
