Vegas New Years

So I'm heading to the US for work and will have some free time between New Years and 4th of Jan in Las Vegas.

This will be my first time there and I will be solo.. Looking for recommendations on where to go, what to do etc..

I am a big fan of American burgers so if you've had a good experience, let me know

Also if anyone will be there same time and wants to meet up for a drink, PM me

  • Spend a day of that and go see the grand canyon (especially from south rim)

  • Jump onto the Trip Advisor Vegas forum and read up on anything you can possibly think of regarding Vegas.

I loved it, husband hated it, although he did love the helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon.

    • Thanks I'll check that out

  • If you're into fast cars, check out Dream Racing's driving experiences at the Las Vegas Speedway - you can choose from F430 GT Ferrari race cars or a range of exotics including various Lambos. It's not cheap but worth every cent, according to my husband :).

    • Just went to the top of my list

  • If you're into your guns, Vegas has alot of options close to the strip that don't cost too much. Shopping if you're keen for a bargain (despite the rubbish AUD rate) is good at the northern outlet mall. Book yourself into a nightclub for NYE. Preferably something with a roof so you can take in all the crazy fireworks displays. Go hit up a few different clubs on each night - drinks are reasonably priced and cover charge can be avoided with a booking at most places. Lots of fun.

Buffets are great but just do the one - you'll struggle to make good on a 24 hour pass without hating yourself the following day! I'd also back the comments above about the driving experience and the Grand Canyon flyover. It's great if only to fly over the Hoover and that massive lake outside of town that is rapidly shrinking with the drought.

    • Yeah I'm still deciding on nye, I think I'll go Calvin Harris or strat.
I'm thinking of leaving shopping for DC because the state sales tax is lower.

Any food recommendations aside from the buffet?

      • Sorry it is a bit late on the response but the restaurants in the Forums at Caesars are pretty decent. You'll pay for the experience but the food is note worthy. We tried Gordon Ramsay's restaurant called Pub & Grill - great food, rubbish service. We also ate at Joe's Seafood Prime Steak & Stone Crab (http://www.yelp.com.au/biz/joes-seafood-prime-steak-and-ston…) great food and great service here. Definitely go Joe's if you want the fine dining and are willing to pay for it.

  • Lots of strippers between the strip and freemont. Go get them tiger
