Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax Pack - $39 from Supercheap Auto

130

This is part of the current Supercheap catalogue but it is such a good price on such a brilliant product I thought it deserved its own post.
Firstly, it is 40% off.
Secondly, it is an extremely good liquid wax.
Lastly, it is a nice little kit, with a 473 ml bottle of wax, a foam applicator, and a microfibre buffing cloth.
Just used it on the wife's Tarago and it came out looking like new.
Seriously tempted to go get another pack for future use.

        You have a filthy mind.

FYI I drive a Agrale Marruá… One of the best cars to come out of Brazil.

  • Well that was $39 wasted

Or you can buy SCA wax for $5.

  • These guys use a retarded courier in my area. Pity, as that means I won't use them. Pick up is too far.

i used this wax for a while…easy to apply and buff off, nice and slick. it only lasts about 3 months which is why i've moved onto longer-lasting sealants.

Can I ask what you now use?

wolf's chemicals hard body. lasts 1-2 years. it's similarly easy to apply and has that wax-like deep glossy look. some people like to apply a layer of wax on top to give more "oopmh" but i like how my car looks with just sealant :)

        • OK, thanks.

Where do you get yours in Australia? Or do you get it online from overseas? Google isn't giving me any locations in Aus that carry it.

        • @carmar: wolf's have a local distributor now, but for little 150ml bottles that hard body comes in, it was cheaper for me to buy from overseas, shipping costs included. elitecarcare.co.uk and detailedclean.co.uk are the two sites i typically buy from (reasonable shipping, aren't averse to giving out coupon codes).

i should note that few retailers will still stock hard body, as it has been replaced with bodyguard.

i've tried both, and it depends on the car's paint, environmental conditions ets. as to which is "better". for one car (perhaps it's the softer paint), hard body seems to be more compatible. this may or may not be a factor for you - hard body has a shorter curing time (3 hours vs 48 hours)

        • @tdw: I have an older car with two pack paint. Any idea of best option for me?

        • @tdw:
Wow, I wouldn't have expected anyone on this site to be familiar with those products :-P

I've also used Hard Body for about three years, but I've always topped it off with something every now and then. My favourite for the past year has been Carpro's Reload spray sealant.

Have you found that Hard Body helps in scratch resistance? My experience has been that it's purely a marketing gimmick.

    • Hard body is out of stock.

  • How would this compare to autoglym's hd wax?

    • It might void the warranty of your hd.

  • Love this stuff, easy to apply (buffs off very easily) and doesn't leave white powdery residue after buffing off.

I use it on the stainless appliances, shower screens and tiles. Doesn't turn rubber and plastic white, so easy to apply. Technically it isn't a wax but a sealant and an excellent one at that.
