For those of you who follow OzBargain daily, you may know yesterday we ran a special on the Dvico 2230 PVR. This was extremely successful, to the point we had to negotiate more units from our supplier, which still sold out! We then tried to get more still units, and unfortunately there are no more available for that price.

What we were able to come up with for you though is a special deal on the flagship Dvico model, the 6640N (see below for details) knocking a fair chunk of the regular price, especially when ordered with a Hard Drive. We are also throwing in Free Shipping to all Metro areas, nationwide ($15 rural).

The Dvico 6640N Full HD PVR:

  • 1080p Full HD resolution (supports playback of MKV/H.264 quality files)
  • Included wireless connectivity to home network, for file transfer and streaming.
  • Included memory card reader
  • Included Dual Tuner, record 2 shows at once!
  • 3.5" HDD bay, able to accept up to 2TB storage.
  • Internet accessiblility allowing viewing picasa, flickr, podcasts, internet radio, bittorrents.
  • Included HDMI cable for high quality viewing
  • Included 12 month warranty.
  • Coverart feature available with firmware upgrade
  • 2 x USB ports for expanded memor

No HDD - $375 (best elsewhere = $417 + shipping)
500GB - $430 (best elsewhere = $488 + shipping)
1TB - $470 (best elsewhere = $518 + shipping)
1.5TB - $510 (best elsewhere = $558 + shipping)

  • Whats the difference between the 6600N and the 6640N I cant see any on the dvico website and the manual for them both is identical

    • -1

      Hi ben,
The 6600N has no tuner included, the 6640N has the dual tuner. Theretcally there is also a 6620, which has a single tuner. But that is not available in Australia.

    I don’t see it as a bargain

  • -1

10% off is not a good deal

    • So.. 90% of the price is not a bargain in contrast to paying 100%?

      The logic escapes me.

      • +1

maybe he is referring to the little difference in pricing elsewhere (not my opinion) or 10% the normal price

either way its a fair point to make

I like the new voting system where people can slyly vote negative without giving due reason. Amusing.

10% off any RRP is not a bargain

    • +1

RRP is $499 with no HDD. this is $124 less than RRP.

    • +1

ummmm….yes it is. I'd love to save 10% on everything I buy

    • +1

You do realize that people actually have to turn a profit to stay in business, right?

I'm all for rock-bottom bargains, but really - get a grip on reality. Not every single bargain on here is going to be a freebie or 50+% off. When a product is notably cheaper than any competitors, it's a bargain. Too many people on OzBargain seem to have the mentality that businesses are out to downright rip you off; you don't even know what the margins are on these units.

  • To be fair, i think its a good deal if you want to buy this unit, fact is you cant find it cheaper then at this price, so yeh im gonna go with good deal. you cant expect every deal on here to be 80% less then what it normally is.

I agree. I've bought from these guys before and they were great - very fast delivery.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Much appreciated.

By the way guys - thought we'd give you all a heads up… staying on the PVR theme: keep your eyes out for a Tivo Special next week.

  • Wish this deal was around in October when I bought my cr@ppy DGTECH 500GB PVR for a little cheaper.
Problem is its really bad at recording and it doesn't have wireless.

This "deal" looks really tempting (to me anyway ;D)
    Just a few questions:
    * Can the Wireless N connectivity be used on my 802.11g Router?
    * How can I get my recordings off the device?

Cheers jmg146 and eljomedia.com.au for this deal :)

    • Hi Crownie,
Yes, wireless N connectivity is backwards compatible to your router.
recordings can be taken of the device either via your network, or via a USB connection.
Whilst the deal is technically over, if you can give us a call we may be able to work something out for you.

      • Thanks for the reply.
        I was getting worried.

The unit looks like it can do what I want so I may contact you to order one (without the HDD).

        Cheers.

  • Any chance of this deal being extended i have a friend that wants one and found out this morning ahh always with the late notice :)

    • Hi Mikinoz,
If you get your friend to give us a call, i'm sure we can help him/her out in one way or another.
