  • Good for NSW if you live in Sydney or Coffs. Too bad elsewhere in the state.

  • REMOVED BY MOD, Name calling not necessary i just booked myself in and they never asked anything about having a child or didnt ask me to bring a proof so you might just get lucky

        • And on that note, comments closed, personal attacks removed. Only 2 comments on the actual deal here.

This is a bargain site, please leave political debates elsewhere.

          • @neil: Due to multiple requests about the deal, reopening thread. Keep on topic.

Rang our local store which is listed as having a course in June, and our Target said they knew nothing about the course!

OP clearly stated NOT to ring the stores as they have no information. Perhaps read the post carefully.

      • The original post did not include that information, only the OP's recently revised post. But yes, don't call the store.

I didn't know it was left off original post, sorry. But the link still has the correct info… I just can't believe how quick people are to neg deals lately.

@acidburn02: It was out of the original post (mods can see each revision) BUT its plain as day on the website as you point out, so really the OP didn't need modification, but it is nice for them to update it after seeing that User error could and does occur. Maybe the neg voter might change their vote after they find they can book in via St John's

  • Thank you mod. I love when u listen.
Please to post if a particular store gets booked so we know.

I'd just like to point out that this is NOT a Senior First Aid (SFA) course, which is the bare minimum required to be recognised as a First Aider by any organisation. This is a condensed course, called Caring For Kids, specifically for people with children who want a little training in basic first aid. SFA is a two day course; this course is a single day course.

    Just so you know.

As a St John trainer I can agree with mister_snrub, although an SFA course can technically happen in 1 day with a workbook that you complete BEFORE the 1 day course (Flexible Learning option).

As stated, it is basically a Caring for Kids Course, which is great for parents etc that want basic FA info that may come up with their kids in day to day life. Here's the write up off the St John site

    Caring For Kids
This course is designed to meet the first aid needs of parents, grandparents, carers in the child care industry and members of the public who may be entrusted with the care of babies and children. This qualification remains current for three years, during which time a recertification course must be completed.

got the link http://www.ambulance.net.au/clicktosave/www/index.asp its called click to save course..

    • ooh thank you =D
was trying to remmeber that website again cos i totally forgot everything after doing it

  • Unfortunately nothing near where I live, but a great idea none-the-less.

  • a great idea — we should have more of this type of training, (the on-call nurse for new parents is only useful up to a point). I did my 1st aid training years ago and I doubt the skills have changed much, but it's worth refreshing them.

ideally SJA or a similar organisation could come up with education for families living with dangerous dogs and/or swimming pools — especially given the spike in incidents recently, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound or cure!

it's a pity though that there are no weekend classes — I'm prepared to travel up to 30km to get to it, but as a sole provider there's no way I can take time off work to go to one of these.
