  • SanDisk SSD Plus limit 5 per customer? I don't think they have 10 in stock in each store.
You are lucky if you live/work near their stores, store staff don't pick up their phone.

    • +2

just place order online and pickup in store.

    • +2

Yeah possibly. I went in yesterday to try and purchase a ethernet switch but oh the queue was so long that I decided to head home and try again today. just a 5 minute drive so it ain't too bad.

    • +4

Yet when you're in-store they're constantly answering calls while you wait in line. Such is the life of a paranoid schizophrenic!

  • +2

That backlight mech keyboard is a steal at $59.

    • Yup, I got the same one in their pre-xmas sale. If you like Cherry Red keys, it's hard to fault.

      • The design looked very very similar to Gigabyte's old Osmium mech keyboard, right down to the sizing of the right Win and App/Menu key, the clickable volume wheels up top.

    • What is so good about this mech keyboard?

      • I haven't found much discussion about this brand, or negative reviews yet

        • Thanks, but what are the good points about this keyboard?

        • +1

          @edfoo:
The price. Backlight boards don't get discounted to this price often.

        • +1

its kinda hard to find mech keyboard that still uses "Cherry MX Switches" which are made in germany with that price.

        • @shadowness: How do you know they're made in Germany?

        • @compound: Cherry MX keyswitches are made in Germany and if you want to know more about them, this is a great video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu1gP4PfqCQ

In case you are wary, Cherry MX switches are the crux of mechanical keyboards as they are what made them popular and many companies are making unproven cheaper clone, whereas Cherry MX has been used in various industrial machines including the ones in McDonalds!

    • Yeah it's good. There's no number pad, pity only thing stopping from getting this one.

      • +1

It is a 'tournament' keyboard which generally means they remove the numpad to shorten the distance between your hands for comfort in prolonged gameplay.
I think this model does however let you add a numpad attachment (see k7 which looks exactly the same but with attachments?)

        • Thanks, it does.

      • +1

It definitely is a shame. In reality I don't use the numpad all that much though so still fairly tempting.

    • +1

Agreed, $59 for a cherry mech keyboard is insane. I'm grabbing one now.

    • +2

good price, but shame not the full size one

  • I got one of the 34 inch LGs at the same price just before Xmas. Highly recommend it although I had to swap the first one due to a streak of dead pixels.
Awesome for immersion gaming but it complicates life as not all games support 21:9. Case in point is Starcraft… Thankfully I just finished LOV before I bought the LG.

    • did you get the 1440p one or the 1080p one?

I think the lower models (57) are only 60hz, with the (67) and higher offering 75hz.

      • The monitors in this are all 1080p

        • With 1080p and a screen this large, texts get slightly pixelated.

          Spend the extra for 1440p

        • @JB1: Agreed, 1080p would indeed be pixelated at 34".

  • For the Samsung curved monitor, is this the same model? http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/samsung-ls2…

It says CSX instead of CS. I can't find the difference on Google. Would be good to price beat.

    • I would think that they're the same. some of these monitors are listed as CS/XY too so I am not entirely sure

      • +5

they do it so they don't have to price match, because the numbers not the same

    • +1

I'd recommend the curved LG instead, it has a higher pixel density whilst having roughly the same screen area and ultrawide aspect ratio ideal for watching movies and better productivity!

      • these lg ultrawides in the deal arent curved unfortunately, but those cost around a grand.

    • I wanted to get OW price match this monitor. They agreed but then checked http://www.msy.com.au/viconline/peripherals/15913--samsung-2…
      Which shows completely different price….

      • I successfully priced matched. Tell them to look on the home page or otherwise look at the newspaper address (from the link above)

  • Interested in the SSD. Does anyone have a link to the item (I always have difficult with the MSY site). Also, would it come with cloning software?

    • +1

it would be better to ring the stores as MSY rarely update the deal of the day on weekends for the website

as example here is the product
      http://www.msy.com.au/viconline/hard-drive/15902-sandisk-ssd…

      • +3

MSY also rarely answer the phone. If ever…

        • +4

And yet we as the public still put up with this disrespectful crap just to save $5.00

        • @TilacVIP:

… put up with this disrespectful crap just to save $5.00

that's human nature, and MSY know it well.

        • +1

          @TilacVIP:

Hardly disrespectful, they focus on price rather than CS and don't hide that fact.

        • @TilacVIP: is that the actual savings? What other store would you recommend instead?

    • +1

Walked into Malvern and picked up the SSD.Now to turbocharge the FiLs luggable!

      • I think i saw you lol - i bought the two mechanical keyboards :)

        • +1

inc a KB for a friend - and they put the sleeve on the box?

        • +1

          @roonie:

          Yeah that's me LOL!

    • (I always have difficult with the MSY site)

I'm currently stuck in the "MSY endlessly spawning new tabs every time I click something" ahhhh! :'(

      • +2

I think you'll find those pop ups are from all the pr0n sites you've been visiting instead ; )

I suggest you run a full virus/malware scan

        • -2

          Incorrect.

          It's msy's website.

  • I got the SSD and swapped the 120gig HDD out of my acer aspire laptop. Pretty staightforward took out the old drive put this in and installed a LINUX OS on it with a USB. Then I put the HDD in a USB caddy ($17 at MSY)

Was looking at the 29" and saw this:

EOL note: These is CLEARANCE Product on Limited quantity(normally less than 5) while stock lasts which available on a first-come, first-serve basis, they will vary in condition and it might be an Ex-Demo or damaged packaging. For questions about a product's condition, or if you have other questions mailto:[email protected]

    • +3

In MSY speak: "We have no stock"

  • The SSD is listed at $106 online (not $99), are these deals In Store only? If so, the OP needs to be updated.
    ref: http://www.msy.com.au/viconline/hard-drive/15902-sandisk-ssd…

    • I think MSY have not updated their Deal of The Day prices online. Might give them until tomorrow

  • What would everyone recommend. I'm looking at either the 27" curved monitor or the lg 29" ultrawide? Which one should i get and why

    • The lg. Its IPS (better picture) also what is the point of a curved monitor?

      • curved helps angle the edges of the screen towards your eyes to help reduce glare and helps with immersion, so it only really makes sense on the ultra wide monitors.
        so just go ultra wide.

    • I have the 34" LG. get that. It's clean and clear and works on a wide variety of low spec pcs including my raspberry Pi

  • ultrawide monitor…. or i could save my money for the occulus rift….but thats too expensive so ill just not buy anything
i am bad at ozbargain these days it seems

  • Motherf….. I just bought a pair of those speakers last week before they went on sale.
