since when are people giving prices excluding GST? :/

How about you make it that we can find out postage costs without having to sign up…?!

Getting quoted $15 to Express Courier to Perth, but with this clause:

Courier - This cost covers 80% of orders, you will be contacted before payment is requested if any extra costs are incurred

God only knows if I'm 1 of the 80%, or 1 of the 20%

And this issue was raised back in September, but you know, OP was just too busy with his clients to address the issue…

        Afternoon..

Unfortunately, we do not know if the goods are coming from Kickstart or our supplier or maybe both where more than one products is ordered.

In this case the receivers are coming direct from the supplier and therefore we will need to contact them to find out the freight with insurance to your postcode..

We try and offer the client the lowest possible price and hence freight is separate.

Right well I've found it for $1499.95 delivered, no mucking around.

You need to fix your system otherwise you're going to be badly left behind, if you expect to just rely on walk-in traffic and not try to capture the e-commerce market.

        • @Spackbace:

I've got a quote for the Yamaha A1050 for $1600 (pickup) from Living Sound. I'd recommend that for $100 more than V1079. I'm sure you can get the A1050 for bit less if you really want to.

          This.

I didn't even bother getting a shipping "quote" - filing it in the 'too hard' basket. Happy to pay a little more to support a company that invests in customer service and its infrastructure.

  • OP please leave the title as is. You need to have your store name in the title, and no one needs to know the price includes GST.

  • is there any bargain/deal here?

    • Without knowing freight quote… Your guess is as good as mine

  • +3

Neg vote for not even being able to provide an accurate postage quote (without further contact). End price is going to be up in the air until they can provide it. That's not how the modern age works!

  • Need a 4k HDMI 2.0 amp. Any other suggestions or deals.

    • We are known to be the cheapest in Australia for all Yamaha receivers.. id recommend you looking at the below link (asd im unsure of your budget)

    • 2 weeks ago, I picked up my first AV receiver from Bing Lee. It was a Yamaha RX-V379 ($392 delivered). This was during the eBay end-of-year 15% off sale.

Your other needs are likely to be different from mine. I only want to pair it against a 2.1 sound system (2x bookshelves and a subwoofer) and it had to small enough to fit inside my existing entertainment unit.

Be aware that some AV receivers advertise having HDMI 2.0 (like mine) but they only feature a single HDMI 2.0 port (others are usually HDMI 1.4).

    • Check eastwood hifi. They had deals running over the holidays. Very quick to respond to emails as well!

  • I agree that freight should be on the site and will be with the update of the site (coming in the next 6 months or so).. been in business for more than 10 years and sort of got behind in keeping the retail consumer happy - main reason being that our target audience is small to medium business.. Thought that if someone wanted to get the best price in Australia on a Yamaha receiver they may opt to put in the extra leg work of an email or a call..
    Anyway, all feedback in appreciated..

Lol that can't be proven until you work out a better freight quote system

I think that your intentions are good, you want to offer the most competitive price to your customers. Also, it's very good that you are listening to feedback.

From a consumer's perspective, the 'DIY freight quote' adds an unnecessary level of confusion. I should know right away how much it is going to cost to purchase a product from you and when I can expect to have the item delivered. We don't really need to know if you are shipping it directly to us from your supplier or if you are shipping it from your store. I'm sure your staff are more than capable of handling that in the background.

Best of luck to you on your new website :-)

I totally agree that the site should have been updated long ago and appreciate that we are losing business from the retail sector. With a call or email most quickly learn of the associated costs if freight differs from the default $15.
Yes, we strive to give the client the lowest price in Australia. Thanks for the positive feedback — its appreciated — cheers..

        • Just an idea, run some analysis on purchasing patterns and estimate the cost of freight to 95% of your customers postcodes - then average out that cost so you may lose a little/make a little on the freight but should break even over time. Might be a little clearer than a freight quote at least until you can integrate the website with a realtime freight cost system?

        • Great idea, though, items such as TVs, large printers etc sometimes costs hundreds to freight, especially to remote locations. Thanks for the solution, im sure a few more months we can ride out with the old girl..
