How much are 40,000 QFF points worth in layman's dollars?

    • $236 in gift cards.

    • A lot less than a few years back, although it depends of exactly how you use the points. If a return to LAX to fly in the first quarter currently costs about $1000 ex East Coast, and you need about 90K points and about $400 'taxes and charges' to get the same thing on QFF, then simple math says that you bought $600 worth with your 90K points, so 40K points are worth $266.66. You'd get a better return on the points if you flew high season when the cash price of the ticket was higher, perhaps double or more. The smarties at this QFF thing will tell you using points for flight class upgrades gets best value, also flying on non-Qantas One World sectors (booked on QFF) where the 'taxes and charges' ripoff is less.

  • If you're looking at this, might be better off going to Macquarie direct - similar offering but with 14 months interest free and likely better service

      Higher annual fee though.

  • The ANZ FF Black Card deal here a few days ago is probably better if you're game is to meet the spend requirement, take the 75K points and cancel before ever paying any annual fees .. :-) .. !!

  • The spend requirement is excessive. I agree that the recent ANZ offer beats this, hands down.

  • ONLY 2 days to go! how long does approval take?

  • kidding? only 2 days for this deal and it will take 10 business day for them to approval it??

    Application complete

Thank you! Your credit card application is complete.
We will be processing your application within the next 10 business days. Should we require any further information, we will be in contact with you in the next few days.

Card Services is a division of Macquarie Bank Limited (ABN 46 008 583 542, Australian Credit Licence 237502) which provides and administers credit and is the issuer of the Jetstar MasterCard and Jetstar Platinum MasterCard.

    • "Apply and be approved for a Jetstar Platinum MasterCard before 18 January 2016 and spend $3,000"

sounds bad. but from the T&Cs:

"To be eligible for the bonus Qantas Points offer, you must apply for a Jetstar Platinum MasterCard before 18 January 2016, be approved and opt-in to Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards."

      sounds better.

anyone want to call them and confirm? 1300 150 100

would be annoying to sign up, pay $69 and get no points

      • i called Jetstar credit card support, when you apply before 18/01/2016, you will be in this promotion.

  • $69 for 40,000. Tempting but jetstar rejected me last time for no reason….. F uuuuuuuuuuuuuuu for wasting my time
