  • The cooler is excellent

  • I know they're made from mixture of polyester & viscose (a lot of people believe one shouldn't go anywhere near a suit that isn't made from wool, or cotton in some cases) but can someone say something about the quality of these cheap Target suits? I mean, are they really that bad for a $79 suit (after the discount)?

    • +3

The quality of the suits is about on par with the cheaper Man to Man/Tarocash etc. suits. For $79 they're pretty good, and if you only needed it for the rare formal occasion I'd say it's a good buy.

      • Thanks. I'll visit my local store to check if they have any of these suits and try on a pair to see if they fit.

  • Love your work, another great post. Thanks.

The fabric on some of them is quite shiny though. Just FYI.

  • A $79 suit? Hmmmm… Great for court appearances?

    • and funerals

  • +1

I can't think of any occasion where $79 suit can help me.

Not on a date in a fancy restaurant
Not on a funeral of someone close to me
Not on my best friend's wedding
    Not in a court
Not at work - ladies with seasoned fashion sense will laugh at me

For all of above scenarios a $79 shirt will do better.

As someone said "Tailors make some people gentlemen and for the rest, its their Character that makes them gentlemen". Are people too much worried about others Suits, Singlet and even underwear? Geez, I cant believe…. :(

      • +1

It is natural. Humans are visual animals.

Let's say clothes make 20% difference on gentlementness. Will you at least try to achieve that full 20%?

Just saying spending $79 on shirt will make people look better than spending on $79 on a suit.

        • I've got some pretty good looking shirts I got for $20-30, that used to cose $79-$99

          Does that count ?

I look to a day when people will not be judged by their appearance, but by the content of their character (apologies to Martin Luther King for slightly changing his words to suit this discussion).

As for judging someone by their clothes, it sounds suspiciously to me like the arguments that monster cables improve audio quality, or kopi luwak is the best coffee in the world.

Personally I think those opinions originate from where the kopi luwak beans come from.

        • @gizmomelb:
The look still has it place because people don't have time to know deeply into the character of every single people they see.

It would have to be a pretty insecure man who needs to depend on his clothes to project himself. I graduated from an ivy league university, work for a top investment bank on a decent wage, and still would buy one of these to work. Its not the clothes that maketh the man, especially if you have the substance.

        • @clubhonda:

Great to know you are doing well. But hey not everyone has time to know your substance. Other people will still have the first impression from your look.

        • @rubig:

You sound like an intelligent man. Someone who forms an opinion of you within seconds would be very shallow. Why would you care what a shallow person thinks?

        • @clubhonda:
You don't have any guess on people on the first sight? I don't belive so. When a human sees another, he or she thinks and guesses and tries to look for info from how people looks before they even speak. Actually most people select at least first few topics depending on how other look.

There is actually no point for us to argue. The fact that you still wear suit shows you care about look any way. Suits are certainly not as comfortable as hoodies.

I think you need to wear more than a shirt, you'll get arrested.

  • Removed - replied wrong comment.

  • OK, how is this a 2 piece suit for $79? Jacket = 89 + pants = 49, total $138 minus $20 off for code = $118. Where does $79 happen?

    • Add them both to your cart and the total comes to $99, before you add the code.

      • I see, thanks. I wonder how one is supposed to know that from a casual look.

  • Was hoping the Hallmark Christmas ornaments would be reduced too :(
