Hi there forum, I managed to get a copy of the banned game Syndicate for Xbox 360 on eBay. My question is, if I play this game under my Xbox account which connects to their servers to log achievements etc, will it detect that I'm playing a naughty game and disable or block it somehow? Or close my account? Haha I'm paranoid now.

It would be the first I'd heard of a banned game leading to account suspension. What does MS care? It's not their job to enforce backward censorship rules.
I believe it actually is illegal to SELL, not illegal to own
