Bought Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 from eGlobal - Battery Not Included?

Hey OzB,

Having a bit of a dilemma today. My Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 came from eglobalcameras today.
I opened the package, unboxed my phone, took off the back, only to find there was no battery included.

Which is strange because I was under the impression that my phone would in fact come with a battery.
I double checked the link (http://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/xiaomi-redmi-note-2-…)
And what do you know, the battery is supposed to be included.

I've looked at unboxings on youtube and they all included the battery so now I am at a loose end.

Does anyone know what I should do? I've contacted eglobal, should I also contact Xiaomi? I don't know any Chinese dialect so I honestly have no clue what to do. :(

  • Edit: Xiaomi support is useless, they cannot help me whatsoever. :(

    • Yes, I paid via PayPal, just disputed it then.
Xiaomi support couldn't help me at all, told me to contact eglobal.

Meanwhile order one from aliexpress us$5 deluvered

  • I'd go to eglobal, they are the ones that supplied it to you.

  • Did the package come unsealed?

They may have opened it to change the language/ROM to English and then removed the battery but forgotten to put it into the box again.

Just wait for eglobal to reply. They're a big enough shop and been around for long enough that you don't have to worry about them ripping you off.

  • Caveat emptor! That is just eGlobal thieves at work!

Couple of years ago, I ordered TCL/Alcatel Idol X+ (aka model S960) from them, what I received in S960 box was previous generation S950 model. Somebody in their shipping department conveniently swapped my phone for less expensive one. Price difference was US$40. I opened PayPal dispute and the resolution was to send the phone back to them at my expense and either get a refund or replacement phone paying for return shipping. Either way risk was those scoundrels could claim they never received my parcel. Alternative was to cut the losses, suck it up as lesson learned and never, never ever again buy anything from eGlobal.

    • Sorry for your bad experience, I assure you after this experience I'll be giving eglobal a wide berth,

      Scammers.

      • Hi OP, just wondering if you managed to get a satisfactory resolution with eglobal. I am considering to buy the same phone from them.

          Hey,

I ended up purchasing a battery of aliexpress and charging them back for the value of which I bought the battery (was a major hassle) I then waited a month until my battery arrived, my Xiaomi just sat on my shelves.

Anyway, I seem to of been one of the very few that something like this has happened too (according to my searches) So do your own research on the store. I will never purchase off them again, but, if it's a good deal and you've done your appropriate research I say go for it.

Be sure to pay via paypal, they have buyer protection.

  • Seems we have located the disadvantage in removeable batteries!

Surely a mistake by eglobal. Hopefully they will send you one if you get in touch with them. I recently purchased a phone from them after bombarding them with questions about the product and found them responsive and helpful. Good luck.
