[STEAM PC] Duke Nukem Forever $3.99 USD (~$5.63 AUD), 80% off

90

"Hail to the King, baby" - after a long stint in development hell, Duke is back! I've never played this one - loved the 90s "3D" game. The page says there are two DLCs for an extra cost of $1.99 USD and $2.59 USD (also %80 off)

  • This game took "forever" to be developed and released, and it is still a mediocre game after all that.

If you haven't played it, let me put it this way: I won a free copy of this game on release. I still felt ripped-off, and traded it in within days.

    • you don't like wall boobs?

I remember when we called it "Duke nukem whenever"

    • They were right about Duke Nukem taking forever.

It's not as bad as people say. It's a dumb duke 3D game, closely resembling the original in many ways.
I think people panned it for sport. It's not amazing but it's certainly not ghastly. If you liked the originals, this price is good

I understand why people are really upset with the game as it took over 12 years to complete, But as a gamer i did not mind it,if you consider as a normal FPS.

    • Same can be said for Aliens Colonial Marines.

  • I enjoyed playing the original back in 2000 and something, not sure it can stand the test of time as quake and unreal tournament have when they were rereleased on steam.

  • OK Pay me $100 I still wouldn't buy that waste of time …. I waited so long for that game… took a day off work and bought it on release and took it back 1 hours later and got my money back …. biggest let down since Episode 1

    • Half life episode 1 wasn't that bad.

Ah yousa thinkin'dah other Episode 1

The 2001 trailer/build of the game looked so promising.

    If only they released that.

    • The Doctor Who Cloned Me DLC features some of the cut elements from that trailer, including the Terminator robots. Definitely worth a look for the sale price.

Although, as much as I enjoyed Duke Forever and as much as I will defend it … There's no denying the trailers, that one included, look so much better than the game we actually got.

    As for the 2 DLCs.

First one, Hail to the Icons or whatever it was called, is just some multiplayer crap everyone ignored.
Second one, Doctor Who Cloned Me is a full length campaign single player add on that is arguably better and more worth your time than the main campaign on it's own. The basic plot is Doctor Proton is back (from Duke 1) and he's got an army of Duke clones and Terminators (if you remember the Terminator looking thing from the 2001 trailer that got cut from the game, well, it's this) … Honestly it's definitely worth getting that if you're going to buy the game.

I haven't replayed the DLC in a long while though, been meaning to run through it and find all the ego rewards so I can have 100% trophy completion instead of just the plat with a couple of missing DLC trophies.

  • Thanks, I missed the news that this was released. Will it still work on my Voodoo-2 card?
