Decent Place to Buy Furniture

I am looking for a place to buy decent furniture that doesn't cost a fortune in Melbourne . Ikea and Fantastic furniture are of the list , because I am not a big fan of what they produce. Any suggestions welcome.

    Another vote for gumtree

  • Casey Auctions in Hallam ( Sth East subs) are worth a look - but they are an auction. Never know what they will have, week to week, but if you monitor them over time you might notice some stock patterns. And of course as an auction you never know who you will be bidding against or what they are prepared to pay. But still definitely worth it - they have a Facebook page.

    Other than gumtree..

We've bought furniture from Early Settler in the past, it's been solid for the price. They have a very wood themed range though.

  • Hard rubbish.

  • For value for money, or unless you are looking for something in particular, I'd be checking out eBay and Gumtree. People move overseas and interstate and clear everything. I've purchased $1500 pieces for $200-$300 in the past.

  • We sold $10K of electrical's and furniture on Gumtree for reasonable prices late last year because we were moving 2000kms, all in good nick most went for half new price, sold the lot in 2 weeks its the go to place.
