The wife has one of these, standby is closer to a week then dies overnight once it gets to about 50%
This is the second one she has had the first would not hold it's charge after about the 3rd charge

      • same with mine. It stays for about a week. In the first week I saw it die soon after getting to 50%. But its better now. Ive seen it get to around 15%. Personally I like this phone. Very light and easy to handle. My use is very basic though

        • Yeah her use is minimal. Can go days without even looking at it

The battery circuit just needs to learn the voltages. Sounds like they aren't calibrating before it's shipped, so it's gotta learn during your use.

No big deal, but annoying until it gets it's act together.

        • @llama: I see! good to know..

  • pricematch at officeworks should be possible

    Same price with Woolworths

  • Has it got hotspot campability?

    • -1

Campability? You're off with the pixies mate - you do have a 2MP camera for those `special' moments tho.
For Hotspotting, GSMarena suggests only the quad core model is 4G, the dual core is 3G only, but it does have hotspot on wireless N.

    • Should come standard with most new Android Smartphones, even when they are this cheap ( on sale ).

  • Anyone know what version of Android these run?

    • +1

      Firmware version 4.4.2

      • Thanks, is that for the Pixi 3 as well as the Galaxy Young 2?

          The Pixi 3

Can the mobile phone be unlocked?

  • sorry to resurrect this older thread. I am thinking of buying this Alcatel phone as a backup phone. Is this better than the Galaxy young 2?

    • I'm comparing to my Xperia E4G. Not as refined, but sadly like the features on the pixi. No issue for calls, Internet, maps, hotspot and app use. Does everything as well as the Xperia. Camera on the other hand is a token feature.
