Brumbys pretty good - youll get heaps for that kind of budget too

  • I've got a 5 yo kenwood model. Mainly use it to make pizza dough which is good - a champ at kneeding. Occasionally make the odd cake mix cake in it but it turns out a bit dense. Would suit a carrot cake mix quite well.

It also beeps when you wanna add nuts and stuff towards the end. Nice and loud beeping too. Very audible. When you loose power it remembers its last mode and doesn't stuff up your dough when the power is back. It's very smart and reliable.

I've used it for over 100 times now without error but haven't touched it much lately because I can't eat too many pizzas and cakes anymore. You see, it's quite unhealthy to eat those things often!

Sometimes I still sneak in dominos pizzas instead because the coupons subsides the pizzas to an extraordinary value. I even know the trick to swap 2 toppings for both chicken and prawn.

I've got the Breville bbm600… It's got a good capacity and collapsible blade (which has seized up but Breville will send you a new one)….make sure you get collapsible blade or it ruins 1/4 of your loaf.

  • I have the Breville BBM 800 and cannot fault it. Laucke make great bread mixtures too, yeast included. Just add water.

Well, it's amazingly easy to put a bun in the oven :P

  • Got this and love it http://www.productreview.com.au/p/panasonic-sd-2501.html

Got it for under $150 with a Good Guys 20% ebay deal

    • 1,000,002x Panasonic

  • I've got the Breville, which beeps when you need to add fruit or nuts. It's a good machine, but the Sunbeam (quick bake, if I remember correctly), makes a crustier loaf.

  • Thermomix. We've had one for about 2 years and it does everything. The bread my wife makes is amazing. Worth the price - especially if you have kids and want to eat healthy.

  • I always laughed when people said that Panasonic breadmakers were, by far, the best. Two cheap breadmakers later I bought a Panasonic and the bread was a different league. Wish I'd listened earlier.

  • Panasonic /endthread
