    Both can be recycled.

They are recyclable but according to TransPacific Industries there is no technology in Australia (apart from Terracycle) that can actually handle coffee pods. The reality is that most people dont bother even when there is recycling capability.

that's not true, we recycle as much as we can and so do most people I know…

we also help the environment by not buying Coffee Capsules, and grinding our own coffee…

Apologies, I specifically meant that most people dont recycle coffee pods not in regard to anything else.

  • I didn't even know you could recycle coffee pods. I've just been throwing them in the bin.

Deal isn't for me as I only have a caffitaly machine, but I'd be happy to pay a bit more if it means I'm impacting the environment less. Our family goes through 2 or 3 pods a day.

    • Just to clear that up, even though some plastic pods are recyclable in content (many are not because of the composition of the plastic) there are no waste managemnt facilities in Australia that can actually sort and extract them and then recycle them. The technology required for that doesn't exist here. Terracycle handles Nespresso recycling and that needs a completely different process to collect them altogether. We would be more than happy to help on machine selection in future when your Caffitaly needs replacing.

      • AFAIK, Nespresso will take them. Not sure what they do with them.

  • Pod capsules and eco dont really go together
