All Rivers Men's Shoes are on sale - all shoes $25 - starts today (goes for 4 days I think). There is an ADDITIONAL promotion that offers a free $25 Gift Voucher for every $25 spent on Mens Shoes!

Soooo buy a pair of Rivers shoes today (any shoes! - some retail for well over $100) for $25 and get a $25 gift voucher - in other words - get your shoes for FREE so to speak (note the voucher must be used in store in April 2010 - see terms below)!

This applies in store and online - so those of you that can't make it into a store today can still buy on line (but you will need to pay a flat delivery fee of $8.80).

Remember the $25 shoe sale will last for 4 days but the promo to collect your $25 voucher only lasts until the end of today (17/3/10).

I just bought a couple of pairs and my claim for the $25 voucher went through just fine.

There also doesn't seem to be a catch with how many claims you can make - so if you want to buy a lot I guess you could make multiple claims (get individual dockets at checkout).

If you want to check out the terms and conditions go to this link http://www.rivers.com.au/promo/GiftVoucher.asp?oo=oa&PromoCo… - I couldn't see any other conditions and as I said, my submission seemed to go through fine.

I can't see any catch to this promotion…

Some small print reads:

• You will only qualify for a free voucher if you spent $25 on Men’s Footwear
at any Rivers store between 25 February 2010 and 17 March 2010.

• The transaction can only be paid for with cash/debit/credit cards
(i.e., you are not eligible if you paid for part of or the whole transaction with a gift voucher or credit note).

• You must apply for your free voucher by 24 March 2010 (i.e. one week from the end of the promotion).

• The Free voucher will be valid between 1st April and 30th April, 2010
and can be used at any Rivers Store (excluding the online shop)

• Note: Printed Voucher Value may change or Voucher may be cancelled if goods are returned.

  • Good deal

    • If you search the online store you should see all mens shoes at $25. I found out by coincidence - I was shopping at the Sandown store and saw the signs and checked at the counter (they told me the sale started today). It should be store-wide, maybe others can confirm.

For the record, my email confirmation for the $25 gift voucher reads as follows:

      "Dear Customer,

You have successfully submitted your Sale Details and once we have VERIFIED your claim we will be able to process your free Gift Voucher.

In verifying your claim we will check that:
      - your sales docket details are correct, and
      - you have met the promotion's required conditions.

As we have many claims to process, we request your patience please.

If you have any queries regarding your claim, please contact Rivers via the following email address, [email protected]

      Fond regards,

      Team Rivers."

  • Looks like the last day to purchase the shoes is today? If so, then the expiry date should be amended to reflect this.

    • The $25 shoe sale goes for 4 days… only the voucher ends after today. happy for a mod to change if wanted.

  • This is great! Thanks for posting. But I am confused as to how to use the voucher, perhaps I need to get to checkout first…

    • +1

When you fill out your sales docket information, they ask for your home address - I'm guessing it gets posted to you. Hope they post quickly because we only have the month of April 2010 to spend it! ;-)

      • I see, thanks! And do you know where we can see what material the shoes are made of? I need real leather because my feet can't take anything else.

        • +1

I guess it depends on the type of shoe. I bought formal shoes with Leather Lining and boat shoes that state "wrap your feet in leather" so I'm guessing it's all leather (looks like it). But I'm no shoe expert - to be sure, best thing would be to get to a Rivers store before closing and if you want that voucher you'd need to do it today… Hope that helps.

          • +1

@InLikeFlynn: Note - Rivers shoes that say "leather lining" means the inside lining is leather. The outer layer is PVC or some other artificial material…it will be written something like "synthetic upper". Just check on shoe label.

I was looking at a pair of formal shoes at my local Rivers over the weekend $39 (down from $79) that had this characteristic. At $39 I still umm and ahh about leather lining only, but if it's only $25 + another $25 voucher, why the hell not lol.

  • Just a tip (if you are in Adl)
that there is a physical store at L2 in the Myer Centre, Rundle Mall, Adelaide!
    :+)

  • AWESOME. Just got 3 pairs of shoes…in fact one of them is the exact model of one I bought 2 years ago (its falling apart)

  • "This applies in store and online - so those of you that can’t make it into a store today can still buy on line (but you will need to pay a flat delivery fee of $8.80)."
    but…
"You will only qualify for a free voucher if you spent $25 on Men’s Footwear
at any Rivers store between 25 February 2010 and 17 March 2010"

Dont see how this will apply to online, also no option for it in the claim.

    • If you go to the link I provided in my post the drop down window that says store location actually has a line that says Internet Sales so I assume you can claim when buying online - I guess you would make a claim after you get your online receipt. Maybe others can clarify - I bought my shoes at a store today and just followed the claim prompts…

      • yep sorry, never noticed the internet sales one. thanks.

  • Hi Guys

I bought it from Online - got an online Order Number - bit no promotional code yet to redeem the $25 voucher

    Please HELP!

    • Send them an e-mail?

      • Done that - just wondering if anybody else tried and know the answer

    • +4

Hi Babby, I'll try to help since I've already claimed with my store docket.

Firstly, don't panic - you have until the 24th March to claim your voucher!

If you use this link, you will see with the store location drop down there is an option for Internet Sales:
      http://www.rivers.com.au/promo/GiftVoucher.asp?oo=oa&PromoCo…

The Promo Code I was given was 25FEB10 printed on my receipt, you can link in from the front rivers page using this code.

I would say you simply follow the prompts with the link I have provided (if you don't have your own promo code) and follow the prompts. Your claim will then be assessed and I wouldn't think you would have a problem. If you have a online docket number, enter that when prompted. You probably won't have a sales person's name if it's an online sale - so write "Internet Sale - not applicable" at that point.

If all else fails, give 'em a call 9852 8804 9-5pm (remember you have a week to claim so there's no urgency).

Hope that helps - if you legitimately bought shoes today and can prove it I can't see how you would have a problem - it's not Catch of the Day after all ;-)

      • THANKS Heaps InLikeFlynn

  • got 2 from store, thanks InLikeFlynn

  • thx, just got 3 from store and the staff over there don't know anythings about this and they thought the $25 (x 3 for me)gift voucher promotion expired yesterday.

    • Same story here.

  • They have a few pairs that I like, but my worry is sizing. How did you guys measure your foot and convert it to their shoe sizes? And did their size recommendations help?

    • +1

Their sizings seem to be UK, but they're pretty close to spot on, I take an 8 /8.5 in UK sizes and the 8.5 was a good fit.

Great deal too bad 90% of their stuff is bloody hideous.

      • Thanks for that gumbs!

  • I bought a pair of mens shoes today for $25 and claimed the voucher but it does say that it ends on the 24th of march but the voucher must be claimed 1 week before the offer ends which means today…

    • Promo reads:

      • You will only qualify for a free voucher if you spent $25 on Men’s Footwear
at any Rivers store between 25 February 2010 and 17 March 2010

      • You must apply for your free voucher by 24 March 2010 (i.e. one week from the end of the promotion).

      It seems pretty straight forward…

  • Great deal!

I picked 3 pairs and was very happy for them at $25 each (RRP around $100 each). Asked for separate dockets, so I can claim multiple vouchers. Then the disappointment: one pair was further discounted to $9.95. Store assistants (not knowing about the voucher plans) congratulated me on the luck. Bummer! ;-)

    • Blimey, cost ya $9.95 that did ! :)
I ordered 3prs online, now waiting to see if I the free vouchers get verified!

    • Bloody ripped off mate ;-) RRP $100 discounted to $9.95!! You've been robbed - take 'em back and demand they charge you $25!

  • Those shoes look like something old men would wear

    • +3

ah took you a little time thomas to find this Rivers deal!! Having a seniors moment again or did you miss it while having your afternoon nap??? LOL

    • nothing wrong with old men……

I know I'm going to sound like whinger, but I can't handle visiting the Rivers store in Bundoora. It's a clearance store, but it's so crowded and poorly staffed, it's a pain to shop there. I used to be a real Rivers fanboy, but the quality has really dropped to the cheapest denominator over the past few years. And their sales are so frequent that I wouldn't buy anything there unless it was at a sale like this.

Does anyone else feel this way about Rivers?

    • You must be joking about the Brand Junction in Bundoora being too crowded LOL. The place is normally like a morgue and the staff at all the shops look so bored…

    • so true… Rivers used to be high quality items… but now it appears they are going for the massive cuts in prices. Not sure how long they can keep this up for. Hopefully they return to their old styles.

    • Thanks for permission to whinge :+)
Rivers Westfield Marion (SA) Closed down, no presence in a Major Shopping Centre.
Rivers Metro Hyde Park (SA) Closed down.
Rivers Norwood Parade (SA) hardly any stock, not worth attending.

  • I submitted my claims (3) 10 minutes ago, but still get no confirmation email from them. when should i get the confirmation emails that they received my claims(because i think it should be something instant.???

  • I have been buying Rivers shoes for some years now and an extremely satisfied with the quality, price (especialy during sales) and variety of their shoes. They have a wealth of information on their website about all aspects of their shoes http://rivers.com.au/techinfo.htm - they really are a footware merchant.

I think the same quality/price applies to their other products like mens undies and clothing.

  • I bought 3 pairs, but the store assistant told me that I would not get a voucher as it does not apply for stuff already on promotion. Will see what happens online.

Re the store, I think the quality of their shoes have gone down quite a bit. I have some old Rivers which are 10 years old and still fab (brown dress/work boots). This was back when they were a proper shoe store with a backroom. Now the store (at least the one in Garden City Perth) has no backroom at all. If it isn't on the meager shelf space, it isn't available.

  • Has anybody been successful in getting their vouchers approved? In the fine print it says the promo ends on the 17th, but on the front page of their website it says the 16th. Also the in-store staff thought it was the 16th

Got my $25 voucher in the mail today!!

    • Yeah got mine this morning as well.
I'm in metro Melbourne if that helps anyone

Thanks for posting this up, great deal!

      • That's great news guys! It did end up geting a good deal in the end didn't it. I hope mine is in the mail today!

        • Got mine today - I bought 2 pairs of shoes for $50 on one receipt and I received two vouchers for $25 each. Great work Rivers - thanks very much.

          • @InLikeFlynn: yeah i got 2 pairs of shoes and a pair of sandals, all on the one receipt and i got 3 vouchers, wasn't expecting that at all, Brilliant!

    • Did you guy/gal made the purchase via the online store?

Can you share the date you submit the claim + when you got the confirm EMAIL about waiting to be VERIFY?

I help my friend buy 4 pairs via the online store and got the waiting to VERIFY email on the 17/3 but have yet to receive anything in the mail.

      Thanks.

      • Got 3 pairs - was expecting one $25 voucher and got 3, wow this was a great deal thanks ILF 3 pairs of shoes for the $8.00 shipping price.

And yes I got the confirm email. Maybe you want to resubmit the claim.

I submitted claim the same day as ordering which was the 16th. I Got confirmation, but I also resubmitted by claim after I got the goods and the receipt in the mail. That gave more details than I could put on the original claim, like sales person etc. My Gift vouchers have the sale docket number and the date which is the 22 March which is the date they shipped the shoes.

So ordered on 16th shipped on 22nd receipt dated 22nd and vouchers honoured after resubmitting on the 23rd (maybe 24th). But dont know which claim they paid, the original or the resubmitted.

EDIT I sill don't know - if was the first claim, or the second, as I got an email saying my claim was rejected because it says the sale was made on April 1, where that date came from I have no idea, not when I made it.

A little silly if you ask me. Now if they had said, no because you have already made claim that I'd understand. Guess It's really up to who ever processes the claim.

        • ozpete, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, they have taken the claim form offline. So I send them an email. The email address they provide for claim inquiries ([email protected]) don't work. I hope their online sale department will pass it on to the right people.

  • i got my 3 $25voucher as well. thanks InLikeFlynn!!!
