    • Nice. When I was in Japan I bought GE2 (non RB) in case I wanted to get the English RB version. Looks like I'll have to buy physical Resurrection when I am over there next time, though!

      • Yep, I have it too but got stuck a few hours in. I have no idea what to do next lol.

      Amazing price!

      • Shocked to see it this low myself. Almost tempted to pick up a second copy. wonder if it's sealed australian stock or what it is.

Picked up a Fenrir edition slim Vita from Amazon for AU$328 delivered over the weekend in preparation for God Eater 2 EB and Ressurection in August, also want it for the L2/R2 Hori grip that's coming out. I'll post up some pics alongside my Soul Sacrifice OLED when it arrives :)

    Big News!
EB has decided to be the exclusive distributor of 3 psv games that showed no signs of coming over here!

(Copy and pasted from a reddit post by "AverageTheJam"

    https://www.ebgames.com.au/vita-218058-Senran-Kagura---Estiv…

    https://www.ebgames.com.au/vita-218047-Earth-Defense-Force-2…

All available as of June 10. Not sure how big of a deal this is given most of us order via Ozgameshop because it's $10-$15 cheaper.

As well as that they're also selling some exclusive to them Japanese PS4 games.
Nitroplus Blasterz - Heroines Infinite Duel Ps4
Aegis of Earth: Protonovus Assault Ps3,Psv, Ps4
Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair Ps4

Good to see these brought over!

Cool but I've already picked up EDF 2 in Hawaii at Gamestop last month and Estival Versus from the UK! I paid US$15 for EDF2 and $36 for Estival both brand new.

      • you got EV for $36 delivered? That's amazing!

      • Where did you get Estival Versus for $36? That's a great price

eBay, quick delivery as well from the UK.

Big News Steins Gate 0 is confirmed to be getting a physical English release in 2016 for vita as well as ps4 in USA and Europe. \No love for Australia as usual.
    http://www.ricedigital.co.uk/steinsgate-0-english-2016-relea…

Oh also looks like EB has preorders up for Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness for vita and ps4 as well made by the same people as steins gate!

  • EB Australia is exclusively releasing Gal Gun Double Peace for vita and ps4! https://ebgames.com.au/vita-218179-Gal-Gun-Double-Peace-PS-V…
    https://ebgames.com.au/ps4-218177-Gal-Gun-Double-Peace-PlayS…
I'm surprised to say this but why is there so many Japanese game releases this month?

    • It's great huh?

      • Great and awful. I'm not willing to pay rrp on nearly any game but I feel like a lot of these will receive very very low prints.

Here's my haul of Vita stuff I got yesterday

    http://i.imgur.com/4t1MOpO.jpg

    • Nice!! Delicious Lionheart edition!
I kinda wanna pick that up at some point but I already bought the standard edition. Also I'd kinda feel compelled to buy the sequel to keep the regions the same too.

    Here's most of my collection.

Not yet but I'm not dead so there's always time.

  • Hey guys I've got a code for Lego Batman, Lego Hobbit and Lego Movie. Anyone wanna trade for it? Established members only please.

    • Just so you know you could probably sell that Mega pack key for $40 on ebay.
all those games are $25 each on PSN.
I've purchased quite a few of these Vita memory card mega packs and have done the same and got paid to have the memory cards in most cases.

      • +1

Yeah I know, I just figured somebody might have a game I want and get themselves a good deal here.

  • +1

Just a Heads up before I post to the normal section.
    https://www.amazon.com/Trillion-God-Destruction-PlayStation-…

Trillion: God of Destruction For vita is only 18.36 USD on amazon so only AUD 32.78 delivered to australia. Cheaper if you can use one of the amazon pickup points which apparently exist here (which I didn't know).

From wikipedia "The game contained several key staff from the Disgaea series of Japanese tactical role-playing video games. The game is directed by Masahiro Yamamoto, who previously directed Disgaea 4.[5] The game's music was composed by Tenpei Sato, who had previously composed music for Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Phantom Brave.[22] Character art was designed by Kei Nanameda, who had previously done designs in Compile Hearts' Mugen Souls.[5]"

Famitsu gave the Japanese release a review score of 34/40.[24] Within the first week of release in Japan, the game sold 18,506 physical retail copies, placing fifth within the weekly software sales charts.

Ratings aren't great for the English release possibly because it was marketed more as a rogue like when it's more of a VN with some Rouge and other game types thrown in. Anyway take a look at other reviews to make sure it's your kind of game first.
Still pretty cheap for a physical version (no aus version) especially when it came out so recently.

  • +1

Stein's Gate is $19.54 (free shipping if you spend over $50 or add $2 for postage) which works out to be cheaper either way than this deal that received 73 upvotes:

  • Wifey is off to Japan so I will have her run some Vita purchase errands for me. Anyone recommend any recent Japan only titles worth picking up?

Aussie Senran Ev and Gal Gun have been removed from sale (by eb games)
SEV has been pulled from shelves and Gg is still to be released only to those with current pre-orders. New pre-orders can't be made. GG is still available from beat the bomb and btb on ebay. I've messaged abd confirmed they have stock in hand and that it's Australian release stock. Still no info on why these games made it shelves abd then were pulled.

    More info as here.
    https://www.reddit.com/r/vita/comments/4uy5fc/senran_kagura_…

    • +1

seems like its due to someone being offended by them and notifying eb , like with Target and gta5 that happened a few years ago. Thats my guess. It also ruins the chance of Valkyrie Drive coming out physical here :/

      • Pretty much what I'm guessing. I'm shocked they tried to sell them at all tbh. Don't know why they just don't sell them behind the counter or online only/ pre-order only. Probably just parent's not wanting kids to see the cover art.

        • Yeah I was shocked too! Like I never thought they would sell it, so I actually preordered SK from Rice Digital as soon as it was announced haha
Well tbf the vita section isnt that big to even be noticed by most ppl . The cover art isnt even that bad (for SK)

        • @RAM010: true with that but the ps4 editions are quite larger with lots of kids browsing through. Sadly it only takes one enraged parent to get a game withdrawn from sale. The content of the back of the case arts dont help either.

  • Went on Amazon today to finally order the Lionheart Edition of Trails of Cold Steel that has been on my wishlist for a while only to find that it suddenly can't be shipped here anymore. Checked out a few other vita games such as Trillion, Zero Time Dilemma, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, etc. and same deal. They're sold directly by Amazon so it can't be a third party issue. Anyone know what's up?

    • Yeah this happens sometimes, no idea why. Check it again in a day or two and it might be back to usual.

  • Just saw God Eater 2: RB at JB for 69 bucks. Can't justify spending what they are being asked for at retail these days, especially considering I got the original GE2 in Japan for 6 bucks. Incidentally I picked up Yo-Kai watch for 3ds in Japan for 5 bucks, it's what, 40-50 bucks at EB!? And people say Japan is expensive, the joke's on us Aussies.

EB Games is looking pretty pathetic apart from those few games that came out a month ago, all at 59 bucks. I'll have to wait until my next Japan trip methinks. On that note I did get some more games about a month ago in Japan that were recommended here, so that should tide me over for a while.

    • +1

I found that there are some excellent eBay sellers from Japan with great prices on used Vita games. I paid $10 delivered for GE2 ages ago. Waiting on the new one from base.com for $38 delivered.

      • 38 bucks sounds much more aggreable, I'll have to check that out!

  • Having just missed out on the Sword Art Online sale on Play-Asia, I stumbled on the sale for Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 for Vita which seems reasonable: http://www.play-asia.com/hyperdimension-neptunia-rebirth3-v-…

    • Price is good, I've decided to not try those games though. They don't interest me at all.

  • +1

New sale on at EB with some decent prices.
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, Grand Kingdom, J-Stars Victory Vs+, and the EB exclusive Earth Defense Force 2 and Aegis of Earth are all marked down from 59.99 to $35. Odin sphere and Grand kingdom are probably worth it. The Eb exclusives don't seem to be selling well and we can probably wait till $28 or lower.

Some more news Limited run games is making lots of small batches of single print runs of vita and ps4 games. like most games are 3-5,000 batch world wide runs. Dragon Fantasy The Black Tome of Ice comes out tonight with 3,000 copies world wide for vita and they'll probably be sold out in less then 30 minutes. Shipping to australia is a painful Highway robbery of $15 USD. They'll also be releasing the newly developed spike chunsofts one way heroics game on vita and ps4 later this month.

another thing of interest is the pre order of the made to order run of Shovel night for vita ending in/before? early october here https://www.fangamer.com/products/shovel-knight-for-ps-vita

A interesting game of note is coming out soon. SD Gundam G Generation Genesis Asia English Sub edition is coming out for vita and will possibly be the only vita game to be split over two carts as sony hasn't made physical carts over 4gb. Interested to see what they will do about the case issue. Play asia and Heavy Arm have the game up for preorder.

    • Keen to get some of the upcoming limited run titles. Will probably wait for the Spike Chunsoft title though, given the shipping costs!

      • Yeah shipping through them is awful for some reason. Shovel night's seller only charges $5 for shipping to Aus though.

If your potentially going to buy a whole months worth of games though you might save by using a shipping forwarder who can bundle them together. That being said they really don't have release dates up early enough to plan like that sadly.

    • Grabbed Odin Sphere Leifthrasir; decent price for what is still a relatively new release and the art is absolutely stunning (barring skeletal boob lady whose design still confuses me). I only found out after the fact that standard copies came with a bonus softcover artbook so was I cheated out of one or was this a pre-order kind of thing?

      • No I don't think Australian pre-orders came with the art book. The only way to get the art book was to buy the ps4 story book edition. I think NA and EU got them though,

        • Oh man, that sucks. I guess it's still better than shelling out an extra $25 or so to import an artbook version. Thanks for letting me know.

        • I got the book with the Vita version from Amazon.

  • Sorry if this has been covered ad nauseam, but where is a good place to get the memory at a more sensible price. I totally understand we are not discussing micro sd prices, but I'd like to get the best deal I can. Looking ideally for 64gb but if there are deals on 32, I'd probably get one of those.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    John

    • Outside of finding stores having a clearance sale you'll not really ever find these cards cheap. No normal stores stock 64GB cards only japan has them. If you want a 64GB SuperUFO is generally well regarded and considered the cheapest. http://www.superufo.com/products/psvita/PS_VITA_PSVITA___Mem…

That being said there is also a possible perception that 64gb and 32gb are more likely to break then 16gb and below. Whether thats because the owners of these spent so much money on them and are more vocal when they break or are potentially more likely to break is hard to determine. Also potentially 64GB owners maybe live a lifestyle where they are buying, downloading and deleting their games significantly more than the average user as well.

I generally buy all my games physically so I got a 16GB and I'm not anywhere close to full with just downloading demos and occasional indies ect. Keep in mind most vita games are limited to 4gb carts so most fall under that size some with patches making them bigger (Borderlands 2).

      • +1

        Thanks for the info

    • +1

      Amazon.jp is the cheapest

      • Thanks for that, seems at the current exchange rate (without postage) 64gb works out at 114, like you say seems to be the cheapest.

        • It's also super fast delivery, takes three days. I buy from there often and thoroughly recommend it. I bought the 64gb card on special recently twice for friends for $114 delivered so if you don't mind waiting you'll find it should drop in price again.

Just checked, I paid ¥8,990 with delivery.

  • Eb is now in their Christmas promo sale period. preowned sale and new sale is live in store but only preowned is live on the site.

Aegis of Earth on vita is marked down to $28, Ps4 version is the same I think, Ps3 version is $23
Defense force earth 2 and 4 is still $36 on vita and ps4

Trails of Cold steel II comes out at EB on the 18th
Steins;Gate Zero has no preorder listings as of yet but is allegedly supposed to be on shelves on the 25th.
    https://www.destructoid.com/steins-gate-0-is-coming-to-ps4-a…

ToCSII and Steins gate aren't in JB hifis system for preorder as of yet.

  • God Wars Future Past is up on JB for preorder.
Whew was worried they had stopped carrying new titles.

  • Huge deals over at EB games at the moment 6-7 $4 New vita games.
shippings like $5 though but worth it.

  • JB has Trails of Cold steel II now. Never even had a preorder page for it or listing in the system there. Just arrived on shelves with no warning. Really wish they didn't do it like that.

Because of the removal of Gal*Gun: Double Peace from our stores in PS Vita I have been on the hunt for it for as while, at a reasonable price including shipping. Tonight I finally found an acceptable deal which I posted: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/278747
    £14.99 + £1.49 delivery roughly $28~AUD

Comparison to previously the cheapest I have seen it on average at Ozgameshop = $30.99 + $1.99 delivery = $32.98

    • Good price. Just be aware the loading times are harsh and frame rates a much less smooth than I'd like vs the PS4 version.
If it's your only option and your patient then it's fine just watch a youtube video first to see what your in for.

      • From what I've heard, it's more a game you would play on your vita anyway, but full have intention to getting it on PS4 version once it drops to the correct and acceptable price as well, but thanks for the heaps up about the loading times, I appreciate that! :)

  • Exist Archive and Shiren The Wanderer are currently 50% off on Amazon. Anyone have any opinions on either?

  • New Valkyria Chronicles game later this year for PS4 and PSVita. WHY.?!?!?!

    • what do you mean why?
      VC is a great series.
It's unkown whether their shift to a new genre will work. I'm quite a fan of the original VC and haven't finished VC2 or bought a copy of VC3 yet.

      • I meant to say why isn't it cross buy. Odds are I'll probably buy the PSVita version of the new VC game, j like I did with Shantae Half Genie Hero (shame that isn't cross buy either :( )

Like the last deal I found, have been looking for Senran Kagura Estival Versus due to unable to get it over here. Tonight found it for roughly $20!
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/287572
    £10.83 + £1.49 delivery roughly $20~AUD

Hoping the loading times aren't too bad on this one. Gal*Gun was pretty harsh as Scaregdearimasu said.

    • +1

If your ever worried about how a game runs you can check out BlueMaximas videos on youtube. He gets Vita copies of what seems like most games and plays/reviews them on youtube using PSTV or video out capture mod so you can see the quality/load times ect.
Heres a link the to the SKEV video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWhtZQJ91GU

      • Thanks for that! He said the load times weren't good but from the video they didn't seem too bad which is nice, however the frame drops are a bit of a worry. Thanks though! Very helpful for now and future purposes!

  • If anyone was still after a physical Asian English copy of Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth for the vita (Dicontinued from production and sold out almost everywhere) AverageTheJam posted a shop they found on reddit that seems legit that has copies left. It'll be ~$83 dollars in AUD using the cheap shipping though but it's probably last opportunity on this one outside of the secondhand market which will be much higher priced then this is later. https://www.reddit.com/r/vita/comments/5ny9pi/digimon_story_…

    https://www.reddit.com/r/vita/comments/5ny9pi/digimon_story_…

Also if you don't care about the vita version EU/NA released a physical PS4 copy of it.

      • Was about to take the plunge, but sadly they're showing out of stock.

        • Yeah same for me. About four other redditors are vouching for them though. The Engrish on the site is pretty believable too.

        • @Scaregdearimasu: I'm probably one of those Redditors lol, my handle there is beakeroo

  • Hi all,

My wife's currently in Japan, anyone have any suggestions of any recent import friendly Japanes titles?

  • Trails of Cold steel two is marked down to $29 now!
Crazy it only released 3-4 months ago.
Crazy how they price some things and how some stay at $59 even years later!

  • If anyones intrested you can get Valkyrie Drive Bhikkuhni for 25.99 AUD delivered from OZGame shop. (use MAIL for free shipping or use MAIL for free shipping and pay $2 for faster shipping).

    http://www.ozgameshop.com/playstation-vita-games/valkyrie-dr…

This is a game made by the same creator as Senran Kagura. Didn't get a physical release over here so if you want a copy cheap nows the time.

    • also worth noting the game is banned here lol

      • oh even better. thought it got a got a release on PSN like Galgun did.
dunno what could be worse than what galgun and senran did to get banned. Maybe it's the physical character interaction because senrans subtitles were really lewd.

  • If anyone here has a Vita or PS4 With/on USA PSN and likes the Atelier franchise USA's PSN has a free vita and ps4 theme for the NEW Atelier Firis game.

    Vita
    https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/themes/atelier-…

    PS4
    https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/themes/atelier-…

IF your vita has a AUS or PAL PSN account attached you won't be able to get this unless they add it to our PSN for free later.

If you have a ps4 and no USA account make another user on your ps4 then make a PSN account and choose usa for location. you'll be able to download all the free stuff and use it on your PAL account with no issues. Shame sony never implemented accounts on vita
even worse of it is they already have on the developer units just don't seem to want to do it for consumers.

  • I've long been keen on a Vita, but for some reason JB and EB never seem to have any new ones in stock (and i don't trust EB Games "refurbished" models).
Where abouts do people typically buy these nowadays?

    • Yeah even though it's not been officially discontinued you can't buy any from JB or EB new really.
JB has zero stock new throughout the company and I think there might be a few in EB but they don't have it on the website and won't move stock so unless your EB has them in the back room you won't find one new through them.
Other options for new are EBAY and buying from amazon japan directly or through a thirdparty seller like play asia and others. (you can also get some very cool exclusive colors and models from japan where as AUS only got black 1000 and 2000 models.

If you don't mind used you can find them on gumtree quite easily although getting them at a good price is a waiting game and you have the risk of bad sellers selling faulty goods. Cashconverters online website gets a few and you get a 90 warranty through them on all purchases so that would be enough time to figure if it's faulty or not but you can't really see them in person unless your cashconverters happens to have one.

If you do end up wanting to buy a used model let me know and I'll give you a check list of things to check when your looking at it.

      • Thanks for the tips there. Do the Japanese ones come with English compatibility and so on? I go there semi-regularly but always figured they'd not be compatible (probably a misconstrued thought as I know the 3DS is like this). If they all work then I may go that route.
I prefer to buy new, but will take a gander at GumTree at some point to see what it's all like.

        • All PS vitas are region free.
You can sign up to any psn account on any countries model Vita so if you buy a japanese vita and bring it to australia or even just stay in japan you can just make a AUS PSN account and use it on it. You will be able to set the vita to English with no issues.

The only issue if you can call it that, is that if you buy a Japanese vita when you play Japanese release games or are in the vita systems menus O and X will be swapped. For whatever reason everywhere outside japan those buttons are swapped on sony platforms. This won't really effect you playing games from australia or USA or whatever they will play normally.

3Ds are as you said region locked (There are work arounds but they are kind of annoying).
I don't know what your life is like but if you travel to japan semi regularly I'm guessing you may read the language there and may want to play some of those games. If you set your vita up with a Australian PSN account you won't be able to buy any japanese DLC for your physical japanese games. There is also no way to switch vita accounts easily (like on the PS4 you just login and log out.) To swap accounts between a AUS and japan account you'd need to do a factory reset on the vita. This could be really annoying if you have a japanese PSN account and AUS account for different games and also want to buy DLC for them or digital games.

Exist Archive is an amazing 10.94 USD on Amazon at the moment bringing it to AUD 24.50 delivered for a Vita game that has no physical release and is way more expensive on OZgameshop. https://www.amazon.com/Exist-Archive-other-side-PlayStation-… Ps4 version is even cheaper too.

  • +2

    Just a heads up.
Can't post them due to stock requirements but Beat the bomb has Root Letter for vita for 22.99 and shipping with them is 2.99 for up to two games so you could get this game for $26. Not bad for a game that didn't get a physical release here.
They also have Danganronpa 1 and AE for the same price each. Although they aren't Aussie print copies if that matters for you.

  • +2

Just a heads up Heavy Arm has restocked Asian English versions of both extremely rare and highly rated Oreshika and Soul Sacrifice Delta Asian Eng versions.
These tend to sell for about ~$100 AUD each sealed when on ebay due to rarity.
If you've been wanting a physical version of these two and at a decent price you have a short window. Heavyarm is only selling them at $35 USD each and low tier shipping should only cost $10 USD. Heavy arm is a reputable seller based in Malaysia and is a small garage competitor to Playasia. To place an order you have to do everything through email and pay through paypal.

Just thought I would let everyone know we finally have our restock of Gundam Breaker 3 Break Edition English arrive at all our favourite Asian online stores! I posted a deal here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/336908 With the cheapest I have found with alternative and comparisons :) As the game was meant to be restocked months ago, many people have been very eagerly awaiting the arrival and I don't believe stock will last very long! Example, 9 hours ago HeavyArm stated they only had 15 copies left out of their whole restock!
