This could be the deal of the week for me. Love this torch, lost my one during the week and timing is perfect for me as I need to buy one this weekend. Thanks OP!

  • 60 lumen
    4hr run time
    41 meter range
    5 led head

seems like great value compared to the same price china torch of unknown quality

this is not a cree I believe

    • Just look at the 2nd image, it doesn't use Cree LEDs

    • +1

At its normal price now way! I sell torches around same price $22 and they have 140 lumen ipx7 using a cree xpg2 around 100m beam distance. They are regulated which I doubt these are! I have tested these torches dropping them from 2m on concrete not phased and leaving underwater for 5 mins.

        what brand?

      • Where do you sell those torches? I'd be interested in buying at that price for those specs

  • In Stock: 2000

    Alexandria

    Wetherill Park

    • Headed over to Alexandria this morning and picked up the last one on the shelf. They could have more in the back if you asked.

  • Just in time. Was looking to buy an LED torch…

Is the CREE LED torch light a lot brighter than this energizer one?

    • Cree is just a company that produces LED's but most high powered torches use cree LED's

      • Thanks. I searched the site and there is this one that uses CREE LEDs and is 500lm.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/207691

This one is only 60lm…isn't this pretty dim?

        • I highly doubt it is 500 lumen. If you use a standard AA battery you might get 100 lumen if you use a lithium ion 14500 maybe 200 lumen max!

        • @aussieprepper:

Ok. Hmm….so the Energized one is even dimmer than the 100lumen torch light then? if that one uses a standard AA battery and can do 100lm, this Energized one uses 2 x AA battery and only do 60lumen….is this correct?

Edit: I don't mean to be impolite nor am I trolling…just trying to understand more about this torch light…

        • +1

@jeeg: it is hard to say the light you showed me is originally called a sk68 very popular light with torch modders but their are a lot of fakes around.
I have a original sk68 with a cree Q5 they are really made to run lithium ion 14500. The cree LED's are more power efficient then the LED's used in the energizer torch. The two AA batteries are more for run times then power.

        • @aussieprepper: I see. Thanks for clearing that up.

        • @jeeg: Just watch some youtube videos with 60L torches man, that will give you an idea how bright they are :)

        • @jeeg: what do you need the torch for?

        • @aussieprepper: had a project whereby I had to inspect some equipment inside a cable tunnel in a building…there are some lights in there but not bright enough to carry out the inspection…I brought a torch with me the big lantern battery one and is still not bright enough….was thinking of buying a CREE LED one but hadn't got the time to do research which one to go for…this thread is useful for me..

        • @jeeg: okay i can recommend about 100 lights lol
so it comes down to price? batteries? ease of use? how many modes?

        • @aussieprepper:

I will buy this Energized one to try out…if it is good enuf for the job bravo…if it is not…a good addition for the family….no problemo!

@aussieprepper: thanks for providing some illumination on this issue

  • Good one

  • I went to bunnings hoping to get a price match and better 10% but the one in Bunning is actually the 60lumen one but the picture shown in the good guys website is the 55lumen one….and as such they say this is not an equivalent product….just thought i should share this info

    • Bunnings one is 55, it says on the front of the packet & Specs, the model numbers are the same too LCM2AA On bunnings site and also gg site

      • Hmm…this is the only one that I see that looks like the one sold by good guys…
        https://www.flickr.com/photos/65469775@N00/24220081313/

        • can't open that. I put the link to the bunnings one in post but here it is
          http://www.bunnings.com.au/energizer-metal-led-torch_p441029…
if you look in specs it says 55 Lumens & model num LCM2AA

        • @TRENT86:
Sorry…i forgot to tag the photo as public…try again pls?

        • @jeeg: Maybe they sold out of the 55 lumen one, just go to officeworks then :) Or just pay the $7.90 which is still great price. Bloody bunnings! useless mob

        • @TRENT86: Yeah…good guys ftw

        • @jeeg: sorry for the screw around m8 :(

        • @jeeg:
The tag has the same I/N: 4410294
I'll hazard a guess and say that the 60lumen is the newer packaging.
Or it was placed in the wrong location.

        • +1

@jeeg: forgot to say Masters also sell it
but would ring first to make sure it's the same
          https://www.masters.com.au/product/900033908/energizer-led-m…

they should beat it by 10%

        • @TRENT86:

          It's $15.19 @ Masters?

Anyway was able to buy the 60 Lumens one from Bunnings for $7.11.

        • @TRENT86:
no worries mate. Bought the torch from TGG. It is also the last one on the shelf…. :)

        • +1

@mmd: all good mate. Happy with the one from TGG. The torch is quite bright too. Good stuff.

        • @jeeg:
Now I'm in your shoes :(
The closest TGG with stock is 50km away.
My local bunnings has been ozbargained.
My local officeworks has stock of the 60lumens. Has anyone been successful with price beat/match?

        • +1

@mmd: May the force be with you! Maybe use some force with officeworks to "force" them to price match?

        • @TRENT86: Today, I bought the torch @ Masters after price match for $7.11.

        • +1

@mmd: Today, I bought the torch @ Masters after price match for $7.11.

  • Went to local bunnings in south east brisbane bayside, guy checked the good guys site it was 55 lumens but then asked him to check bunnings site it was also 55 lumens picture. However the product is 60 lumens so probably its a new packaging and maybe good guys is doing a runout price. Not sure but I'll check at good guys next time I pass by.

Anyways guy was nice enough to price match since both websites had the same picture and so I bought 4 and left the other half stock for someone else.

Opened 2 for my kid to mess around with and to test. NOTE : It is just a simple lightweight aluminium cast single led torch with no focus adjustment nor latch for you to tie a line to it and not waterproof. However it is still very bright and sturdy and will be good for basic home use such as checking car engine, under the fridge, under kitchen sink and during the night, in the garden for cane toads to play golf with FORE!!!

Says it comes with lifetime guarantee with Energizer Australia, receipt needed.

    • Unrelated question but how often do you need to look under your fridge?

      • On top of spaghetti,
        All covered with cheese,
        I lost my poor meatball,
        When somebody sneezed.

        It rolled off the table,
        And on to the floor,
        And then my poor meatball,
        Rolled under the fridge…

        :P
