Are Vodafone allowed to do this?

It was extended to the 31/1/2016 and I signed up on January 30. So I requested a sim for that plan be sent to my house and that I would like my number ported. Today on the 9/2/2016 I received a call saying that the plan was now 6GB and that I would get a random number.

This seems really dodgy and I wanted to know what I can do to fix the situation. I am pretty disappointed given that it is a 12 month contract and worse yet I just saw virgin's no commitment 10gb $40 plan..

  • Did you give them details of the your number to port?

The pack they sent may have a number attached but possibly could be activated with your number.

I vauguely recall this to be the case when I ported across, as I was asked to purchase a $2 sim from Woolworths, then they activated it with my number.

It may just be a call to Vodafone to sort out.

    • Yeah I provided them the number to port to. Just seems abnormal that they activate the service before I even do anything with the SIM. The SIM was completely untouched but I guess they activate the service automatically when you give details online. Kind of flustered but I'm going to give their resolution centres a call today and see what I can sort.

  • Does sound strange but just call Customer Service now and ask first. Hopefully its an easy fix.

    Good luck.

  • +1

Situation is all fixed now. Just took 3 phone calls but got my number ported and the plan I originally signed up for.

  • Good work
