  • Anyone tried to make this?
and does it taste compared to original?

    • +1

Even the professional competitors struggle. Good for the price, though.

I drink 50/50 with milk, pint glass with ice… Never lasts, but still worth the price.

      Biggest cost is the calories!!

      • i mean any made this at home
        and how it compares?

        • I'm suggesting it's a waste of time and product. It can't be done.

        • @Utopian:

          can be done

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0IeooNMoec

just wonder how it would taste.
We can use better and more ingredients to suit our taste.

From the video, this drink is quite fattening
and probably not good for the heart
but damn this drink tastes so good.

@tyler.durden: Of course it can be done. I've highlighted it's not good, and fattening, already.

        • @Utopian:

yes, but I want to know how that receipe would compare..
          how it tastes

Just curious what is difference between baileys
Do they have some secret receipe?

        • @tyler.durden: I imagine there is a lot of exclusive ingredients, plus what/how/when they do with it. Even the difference between two retail creams or whiskeys is a big difference.

10 of us with 10 exact ingredients would still only be halfway there, i reckon.

Recipe To Riches showed problems with expanding recipes, big batches, consistency etc etc.

I say thank god it's not easy/cheap. "There's 1KG in every bottle" (weight i put on)

        • Probably not worth the effort. By the time you have to buy the whisky and all to make it you won't save much

    • I've made it, there is a thermomix recipe, but you can make it without one.
Not sure if it is same as the original, but it is delicious all the same.
Definitely not easy on the hips though!

Diy is not as good ….there are even commercial knock offs also don't taste as good Carolan cream is closest equivalent

    Save $2.

    • Yup. 8.7%
      Good deal.

    4 for $69 ($17each) with help from amex: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/232892

  • The last one of these had seemed to have an issue. The day after drinking it, I felt terrible! ;)

    • +3

      Whole bottle does that !

      • The hangover comes free in each and every bottle

    • The same happens to me when I drink a whole bottle of vodka!

  • FYI. 1st choice won't beat $20 DM members price. Only the current $22.95 deal.

    • But 1st Choice currently have 2 for $40 - so if you are looking to buy 2 (as I just did) it works out the same.

I was going to order 2 bottles Click n Collect from Dans, but the CashRewards site kept erroring when clicking through, thus no CashRewards, so I went to 1st Choice as I had activated 5X Flybuys points. Normally CashRewards is better than 5x or 10x FlyBuys points, but in this case it was FlyBuys or nothing.

      • Yes, I understand the 2 for deal makes it the same price per bottle as Dans, but I didn't want two. They said they won't price beat Dans Member deals. On principal, I walked out, as the member price is still a legitimate, publicly available price. Forgot about Cash Rewards as that would have been even sweeter.
