Hi jv,
Your comparing a chair that is constructed using wood for its seat and back, and cheap plastic parts.. Our chairs have a full steel frame with a 10 year warranty on the frame and 2 years on all parts.
The $148 ones have great reviews

I have the el-cheapo officeworks one and its actually really comfy. I doubt the quality is the same though.
I have that chair and it's terrible.
@bargainist: They age badly, cushion goes flat, material peels and I could even feel the nuts in the armrest if I leaned on the right spot.
@wog_ta: I've had mine about 2 and a half years now… It was alright bang for your buck wise but its falling to bits right now
They're pretty obviously not that same chair
I have the Officeworks Bathurst chair, about a year now, great chair.
It's worn in a bit, creeks a bit but any chair will and its mainly the metal joints creeking

No, only cheap 5h!T chairs do that.
When you are putting 80KG+ on a chair it will start to give sooner or later
Not to mention they get dirty, dusty and unhygienic your better off spending half and getting a new one after a year

absolutely … the more comfy your ass cheeks are the better you can aim! there's been studies i'm sure (if there hasn't i bet we can get funding for one! hahaha)
