  • Always been keen to get noice cancelling headset but quite worried about damaging them as I am as gentle as a bull in the china shop while I'm traveling :)

Everything at HN are always more expensive than other stores.

Agreed - HN is awful. Expensive, inept online sales.

      • Hn is a good retailer now, a few years ago not so much but these days very competitive on most items, you can see that from all the deals posted

        • +1

Hn is a good retailer now

Are you sure about that? I bought many electrical and white goods from TheGoodGuys, Bing Lee and Dicksmith, but nothing from the hardly normal store. Almost everything in their store are over priced and the worst part is they employed a bunch of arrogant salesmen refused to give discount.

        • @PW: I never go in store I always buy online & delivered if I do so can't comment for in store but online is good

        • +1

@TRENT86: There online is the pits. They just allocate it to a franchisee, and then take no responsibility afterwards. Has taken me over 2 months to get a refund for an incorrectly sent object - and that as two separate cheques. Who uses cheques these days?? They couldn't refund to my credit card apparently.

HN is worse than Dickies ever was!

        • I had similar experience before from their online site. It was my first post here when I saw a deal on a Toshiba laptop with 2GB graphic and 750GB HDD. I checked on their website before I place an order and found 10 units were in stock.

The late afternoon around 6pm, the manager called me and told me they have sold out the model I ordered and offered me an upgrade model with a bigger HDD to 1TB and the specification is identical to the model I ordered. I asked what about the 2GB 3D graphic card, yeah it's the same graphic card. Until I looked it up that evening and found out it was a built-in Intel 4000 graphic card.

I called to speak to the manager request to cancel my order and get a refund. They told me the manager is at the wedding and unable to answer my call. I told the other salesman the reason why I wanted to cancel my order is because your manager lied about the specification and tried to sell me a lemon laptop. It's more like a downgrade rather than upgrade. He said I can leave a message and his manager will call me first thing tomorrow morning which he didn't.

It's a long story cut short, I called their hotline number and request to cancel my order and get a refund. The customer service lady said it'll take a few days to refund back to my credit card which it didn't happen after two weeks.

I went to their website and chat with one of their rep and told him the story and demanding a refund today or I'll call my bank and get a charge back. I later got a refund after the rep called the manager to do the right thing.

If you really want to buy their discounted products, try get other sellers like TTG or Bing Lee to price match instead of buying from them. It's a nightmare to get a refund.

HN store rating of 2 stars.

        • @PW: product review site means nothing, even officeworks and good guys only get 2 stars. It sucks you guys have had bas experiences. I personally haven't, most recently buying 2x sony srs-x55 speakers from online and got delivered, they arrived but they sucked so took both back and lady gave us our refund back there and then, like most places unfortunately it depends on the person serving you :(

  • Are these earphones any good? I really need a good pair for business calls on the go etc

  • HN has terrible service at their stores as well. At their Bondi Junction Westfield store, the door guard asked me to open my supermarket nylon bag while I was cuddling my sleeping son. I told him I'd just walked through the scanning machine without any alarm and my hands were both busy holding the kid. Then the guy pointed at a small notice on the side wall, forcing me to open the bag myself despite I had no hand to do so. Still remember his word "I don't care". What a fu*king service attitude!
I used to live in Japan and this would never happen at their electronic stores like Yamadadenki or Yodobashi camera. HN guys should relearn the definition of "customer service" if they think of any excuse in such a situation.
