To my knowledge these ones come with the short micro-usb cable for updates and charging but nothing that you could realistically play with

You can connect it to your PC with a micro USB cable or purchase an Xbox One Wireless Receiver.
The lb and rb buttons are horrible. Also Microsoft support. I Wonder if the newer controller is in any better quality.

Ah yes, from what I hear it's miles better and feels really good. That being said it's 3-4x the price so I would hope so haha
The new controller (which all that are now sold are) have redesigned bumper buttons, which are considerably better (from my personal experience owning/using 4 old style controllers and then 4 new controllers that replaced them).
They also all have the headphone jack, which is awesome, i use it all the time!
Indeed. As it is, I never had an issue with the old ones anyway when it came to the LB and RB buttons. Some people had problems, but it all depended on how you press the buttons. I always pressed from the other sides anyway so the fact you couldn't press closer to the centre wasn't an issue.
I had two of these controllers and both lb and rb buttons stopped working. I also meant the elite controller.
Annon,you're talking about a $200 controller that was built to compete with the likes of Scuff. If you ever get to use one, you will see that they are leaps and bounds ahead of any controller previously made by MS.

I wouldn't say pathetic as it's better than nothing. Besides, as far as I hear it's eBay putting a cap on it not cashrewards.

If you are talking about the original Xbox one controller, yes. There is an adaptor that goes in the controller and has the functions where you can isolate game sound only, voice only or a mix of both, low game, high voice, or high game and low voice. Turtle beach also make an adaptor. I have. M$ and a Turtle Beach adaptor and prefer the turtle beach one.

Looks good, it looked to me that the Microsoft needed a hard connection to the Tv/amp for game audio, not the case with this one ,
No, the M$ one is the same as this, plugs into the controller and you can control both game and voice levels in your headset.

Be wary of some of the headsets though. I know there are some that need to connect directly to the HDMI and do what you say, but these ones just connect to the controller…
If I'm playing media such as a TV show from a USB stick plugged into the Xbox, am I able to use the headphone jack on the controller to listen to the sound and not wake up other members of the household?
Yes I always play games and stuff with headphones plugged in at night for that reason.
