  • does the sim have an expiry date or is it preactivated? can i buy it now and activate it after 3 months and still get this offer?

Rep this has been asked many times in the past and you are avoiding the question answering to all the others, please answer this

    • Rep already answered above

  • Do I get a voucher to activate the SIM with?

If so can I use voucher for a current SIM which I have been with lebara for over a year.

    • it will be a sim

  • +1

Rep, you need to answer this two questions:
    1) Why confirmation is not sent by Lebara?
    2) Please confirm that its pre-paid service and it'll be disconnected post 30 days if customer do not recharge. And there won't be any direct debit.

    • -1

      1) I ahve raised with system team will come on that
      2) it will be using from main balance of $10 and it has expire of 90 days so sim will only be deactivated on 120 days.

      • +1

Will there be any direct debit post 30 days?

        • +4

What are you talking about now, what main balance of $10.00? The deal is $5.00, not $10.00.
Please read back your comments before posting as point 2 is very confusing.

        • +6

The fact that he has continued to avoid the question probably tells you something, especially when a Google search reveals the finance manager's name at Lebara is Chuthan. It is starting to look like deceptive behaviour. I hate it when people promulgate ethnic stereotypes.

@28Degrees: Absolutely right! This bugger is not doing his job and not assuring his customers about orders that they have placed too! What a shambles, he has lost any skerrick of credibility that he had when he first posted.

"Excess data usage over 5GB (charged at 15c/MB in 1KB increments."
That is excessive… it equates to $150/GB

    Other operatores charges $10/GB …

    • +2

This is pre-paid so there shouldn't be any additional charge, once you use the 5gb your internet connection should stop working until you recharge.
Rep can you please clarify if this is correct?

      • +1

yes you are correct however if you have main balance like $5 or $10 it will be charged 15c/mb.

  • +1

Hi Rep please confirm if this is actually a prepaid service so that there is no additional charge upon excessing the 5GB limit per month?

    • -2

      please visit Lebara web

  • When I was with Lebara late last year my data using experience was pretty horrible, the data connection would just drop out while still showing I'm connected to 3G (but can't load anything), goes back to normal after a few minutes, this would happen several times a day. Confirmed not my phone's problem cause I tested it on another phone. I probably wouldn't get it again even if it's cheap… I'm in Sydney cbd by the way.

    • -2

i strongly disagree with your comments and Vodafone network has improved a lot they are in much better shape now. otherwise why would other leading brands are moving to Vodafone and relaunched.

      • I don't need you to "disagree" with my comment because I didn't say the network was bad. I stated what problem I encountered and that's it, not exactly sure why you're trying so hard to defend the network when I didn't even say "vodafone is bad"? (Just shows how insecure you are doesn't it?)

I have a feeling that the problem I encountered was due to Vodafone users prioritised over Lebara users (as Lebara uses their own APN), hence while I had good reception I only got patchy network traffic.
The problem magically disappeared after I ported over to Amaysim, so you tell me who's at fault?

I can't believe when a customer has a problem your first response is that the customer is wrong, without even looking into what I actually said, unbelievable.

  • I believe that is prepaid with no excess charges. After 30 days or you've used all the data you need to buy voucher or recharge. But these guys do have live chat on their website to double check.

  • Has anyone received a confirmation email? I've had no response but my credit card has been charged.

    • Bought one yesterday 8am,until now still got nothing confirmation.

      • Those who ordered yesterday still waiting for email confirmation. Rep, are you still looking into it?

    • +1

OP could you please explain why there has been no contact after orders have been placed and no response from your support team?

    • 2 days and no confirmation email or response from support, I can't cancel the order with lebara as I have no order reference as I was never sent one. Absolutely useless company who I would strongly suggest avoiding.

  • +3

Hi Rep, it still isn't clear if we have signed up for automatic direct debits after the 1st month or not.
    Can you please clarify?

    • +1

Yeah I'm waiting on a response to this question..

    • -1

I was clear sims does not come active so when you receive them must be activated with 45 days of order, by that time you will be asked to auto topup or not.

      • So in other words - Upon activation you will have the option for direct debit or not.
Please tell me where you clearly mentioned this before?

      • When are we gonna receive email confirmation of orders placed since 2 days ago? Most companies have immediate confirmation…. but not Lebara….

  • +1

I haven't received an email, I'd be more concerned if my credit card wasn't just cancelled due to fraudulent crap. The web site looked dodgy and this guys grammar is rubbish.

    • +2

Ya, the REP just not very customer-focussed and can't handle the bombardment from OZbargainers !
Also, he's not very good in communicating with his customers….. 2 days now and still no news about email order confirmation! is he still "looking into the mirror"? when are we gonna receive our simcards???

      • 4 days now, no confirmation, no response from their customer support, OP won't answer PMs. Scam or not I'm getting the charge reversed.

  • +1

This is starting to smell more and more like a scam as each day passes without response from OP, who appears to be very selective in which questions he answers, simply not good enough if Lebara wants to do business in Australia. Perhaps they should be barred from this site?

  • +2

still no email recvd. best to chargeback the transaction

    • +2

Yeah nearly a week since I placed my order and I haven't been able to get any answers not even a response. Would appreciate anyone responding who has managed to successfully place an order.

    • +3

Even if goods received, this is a prime example how not to do business on Ozbargain and how to antagonise the customer. A God-almighty major FAIL!!!

  • +1

i have received 2 sims each in a seperate envelope.
There is no mention in the supporting letter, or on the sim pack, of the expiry.

    • So it looks like they don't expire.

  • +3

    Received Sim today.

    • Does it have an expiry date written anywhere?

      • +2

Ok, i checked complete pack and can't see expiry date anywhere. Also best part is package had sim card and $39.90 recharge voucher. So i think recharge voucher can be used on other lebara sim as well. I don't think sim card and recharge voucher are linked. Planning to buy another 5 pack.

        • +2

Just when you thought this deal couldn't get anymore confusing.
The Rep says there is a 45 day expiry from the date of purchase but I don't see how they can enforce that if it isn't written anywhere on the packaging, sim card or the letter.
If they did expire, I would like to see what the ACCC would have to say.

        • +1

@28Degrees: Actually you are right but I don't care for expiry on sim card. I m more interested in recharge voucher which does not have any expiry.

Edit: I also noted that mylebara account also shows $10 credit which will expiry on 23/05.

        • +1

Did You bought nano sim? I got microsim with credit in sim and no recharge voucher.

        • @pluto: Yeah navo Sim and package had Sim card N recharge voucher of $39.9.

        • +1

@28Degrees: ACCC or the telecom ombudsman?

  • What if I already got a sim with Lebara, can I still use this deal?

    • If you already have lebara sim, buy this deal which will come with sim card and voucher. and load voucher on your existing lebara sim. I'm 99% sure it'll work.

      • And there is no expiry date on the voucher. Probably can buy 12?

        • Indeed. Thats what my plan is. But one of the friend ordered sim card and it did not have separate recharge voucher. I assume that they send recharge vouchers only with nano sim order.

        • @pyramid: Yes. I saw others comments on that. Maybe buy 5 for half year?

  • +1

I got mine today. It only come with Sim without any recharge voucher with it.Anything wrong here?Since you guys simcard come with recharge voucher

  • +1

Received mine today, with SIM and voucher.

  • +2

Rep was last logged in on the 19th Feb, looks like he has given up on this thread.
What a public relations disaster this post has been for Lebara.
At least we have only spent $5.00 on a pre-paid sim and can ditch it after 30 days.

  • +1

    Still no email.

    • +1

You won't get it anyway. But thats not the reason to neg the deal.

      • +2

I think it is standard practice to send an email after the transaction, but main reason for the neg is the lack of response from the rep.

Will revoke neg once I receive the sim/reply from rep at least.

  • been 2 weeks and still havent received mine.

  • I never received an email but my sim card arrived today (26th Feb). I received a standard $2 pre-paid starter pack nano sim card and a "Mega Plan" recharge voucher for $39.90.

  • I activated the sim for the Lebara Mega Plan, tried to make a international call and was told a needed to add credit, so it appears that the Mega Plan doesn't come with any international minutes, yet is advertised as up to 500 minutes on the Lebara website. Seems misleading to me.

    • Mine is mega plan ($39.90 plan) and i do able to make international calls.

      • Hi pyramid,
Did they send you a recharge voucher and sim or a starter pack, I received the starter pack.

        • Yes, mine was recharge voucher + SIM pack (nano).

        • @pyramid:
I called them and was told, that you only get the international minutes on the recharge voucher, not the starter pack, although looking at the lebara website it gives me the impression you would get international minutes with the starter pack. The consultant was really good about it and helpful and gave us a $10 credit so I can make international calls.

  • +1

Tried to activate the number. Number got ported and activated successfully. But when i try to recharge with the voucher came with the pack, it says PIN not activated. :(

  • +1

it's almost a month I didn't receive my SIM, WTF is going on ? no confirmation email received, as there was no paypal how do I proceed with this f* company?

    • same, been more than a month for me. i tried emailing them and got no response. then i rang them, the lady on the other side told me to get a $2 blank simcard and ring her back so she can get it activated. but nah, i plan to use it next month not now, so i contacted coles to reverse/chargeback the transaction for me.

  • +1

Thank you hal9000 for letting me. How will coles reverse the transaction, is your CC with coles?

    • i reckon they should be able to reverse it. it's their reloadable debit mastercard.
EDIT: coles have just credited back the $5 to my card. never again, lebara.

  • ordered 2 SIM cards on 02/03, haven't received any till date.

    • just do a chargeback/dispute mate. they really dont care about their customers at all.

      • Do i need to raise it with the bank ?

        • yes. i got my money back after 3 days.

        • +1

@hal9000: ok will do that. thanks mate
