Bought a dyson dc29 yesterday from Harvey Norman at Alexandria (Sydney) for $389.00 rrp $629.00 cheapest by far. Other Harvey Norman (i saw that Bondi Junction was doing the same promotion) stores doing a promotion on this model for $400.

Also whilst shopping around i saw that Good Guys Alexandria had the dc14 for $397.00 rrp $649.00.

Sorry forgot to ask when the deal will end but both stores had plenty of stock. And also tried to go online but both stores don't have those prices advertised in their catalogues.

ps. just called harvey norman alexandria for a friend the salesperson said that they still have 40 of the dc29 left so it should still be around for a while but didn't give a date when it will end.

Mod: Please put price, details in title. Title amended

  • FYI. More info on the DC29 model/prices here: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/21252

  • Bought the DC25 yesterday for $550! Price matched against HN's current advertised price of $586.

    • Got DC29 for the same price posted from 2 years ago… But if I have to buy new Dyson, DC25 would be the go…. or anything with Dyson ball technology…. sOOo easy to move around.

    • where did you get the dc25 for $550?

    • Where did you buy your DC25 ? Could you contact me when you my comment?

  • +1

Read up and found the DC29 had some bad user reviews, especially those with timber flooring.

The DC14 had more favorable reviews.

    Nice price.

    • I recently bought a DC29 (paid around $60 more at good guys….grrrr)
Was told by the salesperson it would be good for wood floors….however, when I got it home, it just sucked itself to the floor….couldn't be used. Took it back to Good Guys……very underwhelmed by their response….Oh….you need to spend $50 more on a 'hard floor tool', which I was not happy about….
Despite them selling me something completely unfit for purpose, they claimed… "not our problem" ….ring Dyson….
Long story short…..rang Dyson, explained…they are sending me out a free hard floor tool this week, so will see how that goes…… If it's crap, the good guys will hear from me again.
Once this is settled, Good Guys will not see me or get any of my business ever again…….

I wouldn't buy the DC29 if you had very flat flooring….might be ok on tiles where there might be gaps to enable breaking suction, otherwise it just clamps to the floor

      • can't believe people still shop at Good Guys, worst shop in Australia. I guess now you know why.

        • Winner: The Good Guys

According to CHOICE members, The Good Guys are indeed really good guys. Many voters said that staff are knowledgeable about the products they sell, as well as willing to match or beat competitors' price offers. "They are product knowledgeable, friendly, polite, honest and very professional," enthused one CHOICE member. Another said: " [They] have plenty of staff, make good on their promises and provide very good prices on products. I continue to purchase goods and recommend them to friends."

          I won't be recommending them…..

      • interesting - we have the dc19 (which was superseded by the dc29) and this has separate carpet/hard floor heads - so you need to swap the heads if switching from carpet to floorboards. i thought the dc29 was better in that it was a 2 in 1 head - to save you switching, you just click the head itself to raise the brushes for floorboard use. seems like our dc19 is better in that sense!

      • In the manual it does mentioned that you have to push the brush down for the hard floor, it works perfect for my timber floor and carpet, of course it will sucked to the floor if you using the carpet mode to the hard floor…

        • sucked flat to my floor in either mode…….

  • So can somebody make a recommendation on which model i should go buy. DC29 or DC25 or others? i really want to get a good Dyson something great for sucking up pet hair. My place is carpet mostly, but i want to do the couch etc.

    • You can still get the Dyson Ball version DC24 HEPA/DC25 for doing the couch! What I didn't realized was, there is a wand that you can pull out to use under the couch/stairs etc. I suggest you go try one in the shop, you'll love it (if you don't have storage issue)…

    • go an upright with a rotating brush and it will get golden retriever hair (x3 dogs) with no issue.

had ours similar to DC14 for 4 years now and it still works great!

  • Wait until you have to empty the rubbish into the bin. I prefer to use Miele bag vaccume. It is just more hygienic.

  • one of the best…no issue with it at all

  • dysons are one of the best of the best

  • thanks for that guys, i noticed they had a Miele Pet version which had good reviews, but Dyson's crazy designs gets my vote. Ill chase a upright one tomorrow, with a rotating brush and that has that wand (if there is a model with them 3 on it).

  • Bought one a year ago. Wish I had sooner, no other vacuum I have owned has gone close.
At this price a great bargain.

  • Got my DC29 at goodguys 3 months ago at $380.

  • Scored one DC29 (Last one) for $300.00 plus $47 for an extra 4 years warranty @ Harvey Norman in Canberra

    • Hi Kimi,

can you please scan your invoice?

Really hope can match price in vic

  • DC29 going for $398 at Harvey Norman Chadstone and Nunawading, Melbourne. No special for DC14!

The Good Guys at Nunawading marked DC29 for $449, but went down to $394 on price matching.

The DC29 works much better with the turbo head. $129 at Harvey Norman. $100 at Good Guys.

  • Bing Lee in Alexandria just matched the price $397 (DC14), BUT they also gave me a FREE soft dusting brush valued at $49. Found Bing Lee Alexandria offered me a better deal than the Good Guys. I like Bing Lee….

  • i hope i can get this up in QLD. ill be trying to get one on the gold coast. will let people know how i go.

  • yeah i'm interested to know if it's availalbe in qld

  • I just heard of the radio that some Dysons are getting recalled due to electrical fault which can shock you when using. Check this out if you have a Dyson please

  • I just picked up the Dyson DC14 for $389 from good guys robina after getting a price match…..

  • brought a dc25 today $586 Harvey Norman, just posting to tell yah's its a great vacuum cleaner, used it on my carpet when i got home, whole bunch of pet hair came out of it… amazed!! Noticed it isnt as noisy i thought it would be..

Now i notice that my old $130 no-name bag-less vacuum was doing nothing. Dyson…well worth it.
