    I would love this lens to stay this price for another year too :-)

    As an alternative, I have the Panasonic 100-300mm lens which served me very well in Antarctica and Africa. Unfortunately I bricked it whilst trying to update the firmware. Will get it fixed at some point. Worth a look since the zoom is amazing when photographing animals.

    Yes, it was even cheaper when you could combine the cashback with the eBay 20% offer a few months ago. Brought it down to around $1000.
