    WOW!

    • +1

reviews are not encouraging thou, probably only worth $10 unless you want to get drunk, pretty cheap way to do so

      • As long as they're on par with (or better than) the $13 club variant, then they're pretty good.

    • +3

      WES, actually.

Buy 10 and get $15 cash back from CashRewards for first online timebuyers + Free Delivery

    • +18

      Yep, details here: http://www.cashrewards.com.au/coles-online

Buy that many and you'd be a 'Port' Supporter.
      Ill let myself out.

I just bought 10 for $90.00. Coles code CLICK10 gave me $10.00 off $100 spend.
Plus I am also expecting $15.00 cashback from Cashrewards. Making it $7.50 a bottle, thanks TA.

        • I used the code and it was accepted (a line appeared reading 'code will give you $10 off'), but the total has not changed. I went all the way to the payment screen and it still showed the full amount. At which stage was your cart total reduced?

        • Yes, once I applied the code it was reduced to $90.00. You need to spend $100.00 then you should clearly see your total come to $90.00.

        • @28Degrees: Thanks for your reply. It just does not. And free delivery is only offered for very select bad time slots. Does it determine 'new customer' by address perhaps instead of name?

        • Maybe, I did click and collect, try that instead. Didn't want to push my luck with free delivery also.

        • +1

@28Degrees: Yes, C&C worked eventually. Thanks!

  • +1

can I buy it in store for $10?

    • Yeah. Was hoping to just pop down to the Coles store and goto the attached Liquor section (LL I think) and buy a few.

  • +1

liquor land store available at this price?

    • +2

Just checked my local store, it's still $40

      • +1

        thanks

  • +3

Can click and collect it. I live in Camberwell and just selected the Abhburton (191 High Street ASHBURTON VIC 3147)store to collect it.

If you type in your suburb it will probably say it is unavailable.

      Is this red wine?

      You're kidding, right?

What an idiotic question - why not ask if it is orange juice?

Great price but no good for Queensland.

Do you mean because it doesn't come in a cask?

Too right bro, no goon pillow=no sale.

    • Or SA

      • Why? i just ordered 5 no problems in SA thankyou tightarse

Wish they would fix our antiquated laws

How does it compare to the Grandfather which is $82/bottle? I love it, but at only $10/bottle I'm tempted!

    • +5

Taste value would be the squareroot of the grandfather

    • It doesn't!

  • Expired?

    Temporarily Unavailable

      • How do I select a store? I'm unfamiliar with the Coles website. I'm on the mobile site.

        • Ahh sorry not sure how the mobile site works

When I tried to check out:

Sorry! You haven’t reached our $50 minimum. To checkout, you need to order over $50.

    WTF…

  • +1

I am getting the feeling that this is a pricing error

    • +6

Whoever priced this must be drunk.

  • A Penfolds that normally sold for just $35? How does it taste?

    • +2

Like this, if you believe everything you hear:

The palate effortlessly displays the famed attributes of great Liqueur Tawny; luscious, rich and full flavoured with mouth filling viscosity and a slightly dry finish. Intense raisined fruit, walnut and toffee flavours harmonise with subtle vanillin oak.

      • +15

I tried to use Google Translate on that description, it shows: Taste alcoholic.

        • Interestingly, the Grandfather has the same description, with the addition of:

…and rancio complexity before a remarkably long finish

      • +11

The palate (taste) effortlessly displays the famed attributes of great Liqueur Tawny (tastes like port); luscious, rich and full flavoured (strong taste) with mouth filling viscosity (its liquid) and a slightly dry finish (its a bit young). Intense raisined fruit (grapes, strangely enough), walnut (tastes a bit woody) and toffee flavours (burnt sugar) harmonise with subtle vanillin oak (tastes more woody).

So, it tastes like strong port, its liquid and should've been left to age a bit longer. Tastes like grapes, wood and burnt sugar.

        Your welcome …

        • +2

…is appreciated? Or did you mean "you're"?

  • I added another 4 to make it 5. This time it allowed me to check out. Why do you need to spend $50 to check out?

    • Woolworths has a min $30 spend for online orders even for click & collect. Maybe Coles' is $50.

  • Thanks TA, ordered 3 for the bar now we just see if they follow through.

    • Just curious. How did you manage to check out with your order of $30? I just rang Coles customer line and the guy confirmed that the minimum spend is $50 in order to check out.

      • +1

Ahhh he who assumes is likely to be confused…. I added stuff to the order so that it came to $50.01 and am doing C&C.

Yes, the Coles minimum spend is annoying…

    • +1

Well, they did a Dick Smith on me. Went to the store to pick up the order and they refused to honour it saying it was a web mistake. What is annoying is that they had almost 24 hours to tell me that but instead they let me drive all the way to the pickup store and then tell me. And they are still advertising it at that price but claiming it is "temporarily unavailable" rather than actually correcting the price.

  • Out of stock in Vic?

  • Thanks I tried this at the cellar door and really like it

  • Ordered 10 at my local for $90.

    • +4

      Great, a drunk Broden ;)

      • It shelves fairly well (2-3 yr?), and the boxes (with the tawny) make for exquisite gifts. :P

        • +1

It's fortified. Will essentially last forever.

  • Also

De Bortoli Sacred Hill Old Tawny Port 750mL $5.35 ($0.71 per 100mL)
    Renmano Aged Tawny Port 2L $10.70 ($0.54 per 100mL)

    • +4

De Bortoli is $4.99 at Dan's (or $4.75 in any 6).
      Renmano $8.99 at Dan's.

      • Gotta be cheap and nasty port then 👍

        • Not nasty but nothing at all like its quality "parent".

  • +9

decided to have a look at it. Clicked on the entry and it came up with have you also considered coca cola and platinum lemon dishwasher tablets. Sounds like one hell of a cocktail to me.

    • +1

well, they do call it Finish…

      • Actually the tablets were called "fairy". Maybe that is what you see once you drink it.

  • Can someone confirm whether I would be able to put in 5 for click and collect, choose EFTPOS on collection, and then explain I made a mistake and that I only want one when I get there tomorrow?

    • Based on my understanding you can return anything you don't want at coles right after purchase. So it should be fine

    • +1

I must try this arse you speak of.

    • +3

In Roman times, arse tasted like port…

      • Perhaps spuderump is an old fashioned Roman and enjoys getting up to some weird stuff. Caligula style.

  • +2

Damn it, it is unavailable. Now I will have to buy Passionpop

  • WOW! 10 Year Old wine costs $10?

    • +1

Better price/year than 100+ year old port. I was offered a bottle in a cellar in Oporto for about 3000 Euros, or the bargain price of 100 Euros for a small tasting glass. I am sure it would have been an interesting experience, but I passed…

  • Would be nice if it was available to Tassie, … sadly we are off the National Map yet again … :( I love Port too ..

    • +2

I drank a 2 litre goon of Penfolds port on the way to Tazzy. Woke up with what felt like an internal exorcism. Just the mere smell makes me weep like a little girl… 2 stars!

  • IT'LL GET YA DRUNK!

  • +1

My confirmation email just says "Estimated Total" of $x.
    With a footnote:

This is our best estimate of what your order will cost. We’ll let you know the final price once we’ve completed your shopping. Find out more about potential price variations.

So OZBargainers, in your experience, has Coles ever amended prices later, and if so, are you able to backout of the transaction? (In case price gets amended to $40 per bottle :-) )

    Thanks in advance.

    • +1

I purchased these this morning (from pricehipster tip) and was not charged the extra. You can just ask for a refund if they try and charge you more?

    • +1

They won't change the price. The estimate total is in case some items may be out of stock, so they can adjust the final total accordingly.

      • +2

Or when ordering items that are priced per kg etc, for which the final price is unknown at order time.

  • This stuff is awesome! Great on ice cream it straight! I think I've missed out on the deal. I'm to drunk at the moment to take advantage if the deal… I'm not a true ozbargainer…

  • +1

    I'm Feeling a little nostalgic
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182983
We should hedge our orders with a price match at uncle dans

    • And you don't need to order in 5+ bottles. There is no minimum spend requirement for in-store purchase.

  • Site down

    • It's scheduled impatience.

  • Site still down!

  • I think already expired now back to $40. https://www.liquorland.com.au/Pages/Search.aspx?k=Penfold%20…

    • +1

Liquorland always had it at $40, it's still $10 at Coles.

    • Just checked out in Vic, site still up and $10 at Coles.
