Help with Visiting Sydney

Hey everyone,

This may be odd but I am hoping to get your help.

A friend of mine is a journalist visiting from Dubai. He is staying in Sydney for a week. I will be meeting him for a few days there. I am not from Sydney so, I don't know my way around much

Could I get some recommendations on where to take him? I would like to show him around the city or surrounding areas.

He is not big on parties or alcohol & he is allergic to sea-food.

Any nice restaurants, sightseeing or such to visit?

Thank you in advance.

Here's a bunch of day trips around the Sydney area that include all the major sights.

That same wiki also has a restaurants and getting around section.

Bit hard to say not knowing what they are into…

Depending on when it is, definitely recommend checking out some beaches either up or down the coast from Sydney if you have a car. Tourists seem to flock to Bondi though… can be very picturesque especially from Bondi Icebergs resteraunt the view is stunning. Can't really go wrong. For quieter side of things then Central Coast beaches.

Perhaps find out what types of food they would like to enjoy then lookup those type of resteraunts on tripadviser and eatability. Or check on Instagram for the latest crazy food trends and cafes, crazy nutella incarnations, scrolls, shakes, cakes etc.

Check what sporting events are on that week as well if of interest.

Have a browse on whatsonsydney and see if anything of interest pops up for the dates

  • Thank you heaps guys. I will surely take those onboard when planning things.

I think Coogee Beach will be a better/less touristy than Bondi. I will take him there but I will recommend Bondi for the remainder of the trip.

Can't go wrong with showing him the harbour and surrounding areas too.

    Thanks again.
