I actually got a bottle to do the taste test with against home brand …..difference seems to home brand has more bubbles …..but it does yor guests feel special even if the sanpelligrino bottle has been refilled from the home brand bottle. If you want the same fizz 1/2 home brand sparkling mineral water and 1/2 tap water is same as sanpelligrino ……

I will never understand how restaurants can get away charging $7 for this and that people will actually order it!
Just like movie theatres make the majority of money on concession stand sales in the first few weeks of a movie (it is quite complex; http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/movie-distribution2.h…), restaurants rely on high margin drinks to boost their profits. Personally I always ask for tap water but the one time I had sparkling (it was complementary), it did act as a bit of a palette cleaner.
How that it differ from a beer which costs $1.80 wholesale which gets sold for $8.50?
at least that's alcohol!! ;)
Annoys me how when the alco tax went up some small amount (not sure the %) and then all the basic spirits in the main bars and clubs increased by up to $2
