Even after claiming back GST and using CR it's still $1800+ for a 15.6" laptop without a dedicated GPU. That's crazy expensive.

It actually has a NVIDIA Quadro M1000M with 4GB dedicated RAM

Not sure why it's not included with the sale listing:

      Full details:

I'm positive the part number T9S43PA is for HP Zbook Studio

I guess I'll find out for sure when it arrives in a wekk

      • I think it is the more expensive version that comes with the Quadro http://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx?…

      • You should call up now to make sure before you get it. Don't wait until it's delivered.

If it comes with the Quadro (would make sense if it's called a 'workstation laptop') then it's not a bad deal (Quadro tax + fast storage tax). If it doesn't come with dedicated graphics then it's a horrible deal and you should strongly consider cancelling your order.

        • that's a good point - I'll clarify this with HP sales support -

    • Agreed, I'd go for a Dell XPS 15 with the GTX 960M instead for about the same money

yeah, but you don't get 3 years warranty - that comes as an upgrade option

The zbook studio has got built-in ethernet port, spill-resistant keyboard & the keyboard layout is better suited for programming tasks

It also support up to two PCIe m.2 2280 SSDs

the quadro m1000 performance is also comparable to the 960m

I have a rule: Never buy HP

    This rule still applies

    • Never buy HP unless it's HP Business*

      Their warranty is unbeatable.

      • +2

Still doesn't change the fact that their product is junk.

        • +1

Their consumer products are. Business and HPe have always been good.

          @Clear:

Business laptops in general are good (consumer laptop sold to business like Dell's Vostro line or Lenovo non T/W/X series for example aren't).

      • Their support is dreadful.

Abbreviated support conversation (because thinking too much the entire two hour long ordeal will drive me to drink):
Me: "Yes, hello, this Probook takes literal minutes to boot whenever it's joined to any Windows domain, even with a clean install of Windows or restored to factory defaults."
Them: "Oh, disable all the services, that will solve your problem."
Me: "Uh, yeah, but then it probably won't boot at all."
Them: "Oh, well just restore to factory settings."
Me: "I've done that. And done a fresh install of Windows. On a different hard drive. It still does it."
Them: "Well, reset to factory settings anyway, maybe that will fix it."

        • I just submit an online request and list all the crap they want to hear and ask for a replacement or spare part to be sent. Hasn't failed me yet.

        • @Clear: I discovered that for the replacement. Even then, I had to lodge the ticket and then chase them up.

Now I'm playing Warranty Merry-Go-Round with them with a Laserjet. The warranty on it expired a year before we bought the printer to sell onto the client. The day after submitting the invoice to them to get this corrected, I get an email apologising for the inconvenience of reaching the warranty department and not much else. The warranty has still expired and I've resorted to yelling at them on Twitter.

        • @douglasac10: Are you buying directly through HP or using a supplier? If it's the latter then you can get an authorisation form to send to your supplier for a replacement.

        • @Clear: Supplier. But I can't get an authority form because the warranty has incorrectly expired and they have yet to fix it. Hence Warranty Merry-Go-Round.

    • Agreed. Looking at those specs makes me wonder who ever buys them.
