Plants Vs. Zombies Now Available Free in The EA Access Vault (EA Access Sub Required - Xbox One)

60

The original Plants vs. Zombies (the Xbox 360 version) has been added to the EA Access Vault, and is available to download, keep, and play free (for as long as you have an active EA Access subscription). This adds to the fantastic value that the EA Access subscription offers!

This marks the first time a non-Xbox One game has been added to the EA Access Vault.

As it is a backwards compatible game, it can be played on the Xbox One.

Download this by accessing the EA Access Vault on your Xbox One console.

    "Free"

  • Was 'Free' on PS+ ages ago too, the One version was also given away with some EA games too recently…

I much prefer the original game, can't get into the sequel at all. It suited the mobile arena perfectly.

    • I got the original free and still play it. I've had plenty of gameplay from it and am happy to pay for the sequel just not at the current prices. IMO $29 is my limit, so will wait.

    • Actually my bad, the sequel was free on PS+, mind you I think the original was free on Xbox 360 too at a time.

    • This is the original game? When you say sequel, are you talking about PvZ: Garden Warfare?

There is no XB:One version of this game; there is only the 360 version of it (which is backwards compatible).

      • Yeah sorry my bad, was getting confused thinking EA would do the right thing and give away a Xbox One game on a Xbox one orientated service :) Instead they gave away a game given away already….

        • PvZ: GW is in the vault too, so they do give that away… the original is a great bonus.

I'm sure there would have been a lot of people who missed it when it was a GwG as well, and it didn't work on XBOne then either so others might not have grabbed it.

    How is this a deal??

    • +1

I won't downvote I think aussman does have a point here. Only strictly in the definition of free though.

You must have an EAAccess subscription which costs money. So in effect you ARE paying something for it.

Technically the same with the "FREE" Games with Gold. They always show up as "free" deals on OB but technically because you're paying a subscription, they're not really are they?

Imagine if people started listing Netflix shows/movies to watch for "free".

It really is the same thing, yet it is not done and deals like this ARE listed as "free".

Look, I don't mind seeing the deals listed at all, and I choose with my votes which ones I like anyway, but Aussman is a little bit correct I think. Things listed as "free" that you need a paid subscription for im my opinion are not free.

Far out, this has been done to death time and time again.

They are free in that you have paid for a service (be it Xbox Live, PS Network, or EA Access) that has a certain function, feature, or number of games. The free part is that you've got an increase in that service, free of charge, by getting an extra game - so while yes, you paid for the original service, you're getting a free extra part.

You get no notification of these getting added/coming available. Some people only notice them through these type of posts.

Mods have said that GwG, PS+, and by extension these deals are fine.

its a forum post at best
the service includes games - you are paying for the service
once you pay your monthly subscription all games are "free"

        • Look, I appreciate your original post, just as I appreciate the people who tell me what the next free XBOX Live games with gold are (I'm a live member). I think I misrepresented myself - I actually don't mind these posts and like them. You're getting a little frustrated over the wrong thing.

My point was the DOWNVOTE. I think it's over used. This is a comment section to leave comments, and Aussman expressed he doesn't believe they are strictly free. ("How is this a deal?"). Instead of explaining how this is a deal he was downvoted. I expressed technically I believe he's correct, just as I think my wife's Galaxy S6 wasn't free on her $80 Telstra plan while I pay $50 for the same deal without a phone. 24 x $30 = $720. True it's a good DISCOUNT on the S6 but certainly not free. Because you pay for it. In your subscription/plan/whatever.

Mate, keep listing this stuff, I'm not an EAccess member so I will skip over it but some people will appreciate it (You have 6+ votes so at least 6 people appreciate it but I bet it's more).

I just think comments are open discussions and a downvote is unnecessary. It's not like he threatened to come over and kick your cat or something.
