  • ?? Item location: Darwin,NT, Australia ??

    • Yeah it says that but the tracking number I got for China post

      • This is really common on ebay now, anything that I've ordered of this oeuvre always seems to turn up in a relatively timely fashion for China post. ;)

Always wanted to try one of these. For $3, what could possibly go wrong eh?

  • Thanks got one.

Good reviews online and looks easy to use

    Thanks

  • Got one to play with

  • Bought a few, hoping for the best…

Anyone know if you can play around with different OSs on these? 128MB of memory isn't much, though I'm sure some fun could be had with it…

    • Bought a few, hoping for the best…

Are you the one who bought 9?

      • Yeah, fair few family members wanted in on this deal.. Bought 1 for myself originally then they all said they wanted a couple to try out. Someone else bought 20 though, so there must be a fair few left.

Edit: with the if it's legit or not side of things, I'm pretty confident with eBay's dispute process - I'm happy to risk $30 for this.

    • 128MB of memory

Android is unuseable at 512MB so I hope it it isn't Android.

Not that you should be expecting a working device in any case.

      • You're using an Android or iOS app to stream content through the device to your TV. It's not like those Android dongles.

      • It uses a linux based system (apparently) for the receiving side of things. Chromecast's don't use direct android either, I don't think any devices like this would.

Edit: Btw, these are usually only $5-10 cheaper than a chromecast, so I'm expecting it to be at least half a good as one.

  • Purchased one to try! Thx

  • Great price had to get one to try, thanks!

  • Worth a shot, thanks!!

  • bought 2 to try

  • Only $3. You will get along like the house on fire. : )

Lol, I like the description that says "App: Needn't"…

  • Looks appealing but I'll give it a pass this time.

    Review:http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/review/set-top-boxes-on-demand-tv/ezcast-m2-review-b00iiehwaq-3573548/
"Streaming video is choppy, screen sharing is awkward and there's no third-party app support"

  • Under description it says

7.Simple installation; Easy handling and configuration - just follow the

    … the?

Hopefully that doesnt indicate there is nothing to follow

    • According to reviews there's not much to follow, you're gonna have a 'fun' time setting these up… But for $3 it's possibly worth it.

  • The original M2 was crap and I have no doubt this knock off will be too. But for $3 from China you can't really complain.

  • For $3, why not.

  • Wi-Fi: 802.11b/g/n 150Mbps 2.4Ghz

this will tell you its a 720p device at best

    • …How does WiFi speed tell you the resolution of it's output?

  • $3 this can't be good!

    • I bought those xiaomi piston headphones for quite low and they gave better sound quality than my $200 headphones! how dare they!

  • WOW. i bought 2! These things are pretty good for DLNA playback.

I'm using android allconnect to get it to play videos from my NAS. Its almost like a remote controlled video player. Even plays MKV files and files chromecast cannot support.

I remmeber paying about $26 for my fist one about 2 years ago, then 2 more for $10 each and now they are $3

  • Why is this in the forum and not the deals page???

    • I posted it as a deal but I think due to it doesnt meet the ebay guideline deals it has been moved to the forum

      • It got sold out once you posted…well done!

  • Shut up and take my money :)

  • These usually go for around $15-25… I'd wager a guess that the seller is actually peddling counterfeit models of the device. The M2 Ezcast itself is a direct chinese clone of a chromecast, so it's a little amusing that some individuals decided to counterfeit a product that was already a clone. I suppose that's to be expected of China.

From November 2013, we got continuous feedback from the end users, complaining the problem of EZCast dongles, especially VMD-EZ152, which is known as M2. The problem claimed focuses on WiFi failure, connection failure and iOS support problem. After investigation we found out what the customs complained was not our genuine dongle but some copy dongles. Also due to the copies and too many dealers, the market was in a mess already. We cannot stop the copiers' behavior but we can stop ourselves to produce it anymore in March 2014.

    Dear friend,

We checked with logistics company about the item shipping status,
they replied us that your items might be lost during the transportation.
It is normal that the lost rate of international long-distance transportation is 1‰.
It is difficult to avoid, hope you can understand.
Even so we still apologize for this that you spend time and money to wait items.

In order to protect your buyer's right, We would like to full refund you.are you agree ?

After our full refund, please do not leave any feedback,we appreciate it , we cancel transaction.

If you still need this item, you can buy again and have the right of eBay 45 days buyer protection again.

    Waiting for your reply soon.

    Best regards,

    Sophia

    Anyone else receive this email?

    • Didn't get anything yet. Did you contact them to get this reply?

    • Yes,got the same message

    • Yes, received the same email. It looks to me like they put the wrong price on the item and are now trying to wriggle out of sending them by spinning a tale of "items lost in transportation".

They have relisted the item at $21.30

I'm just thinking about how to respond.

      • If you still need this item, you can buy again and have the right of eBay 45 days buyer protection again.

It's blatantly obvious what they're trying to do. They have more stock, they could just send a replacement if lost package was actually true.

    • Same.

    • I got this exact email today…

  • same message.

  • My e-mail has just come in tonight. I'm inclined to do a "item not received" charge-back with PayPal. For one thing, I am their customer, I am not their "Friend". They appear to want to step outside of the E-bay/Paypal resolution system. I'm disinclined to trust them.
My first suspicions were that this was merely an e-mail harvesting scam, but was prepared to risk a few dollars to help some community members, but I'd rather be assured of my refund that play these silly games.
I will take it through the proper resolution channel. The suggestion that it be taken outside via e-mail isn't one I'd suggest to anyone….

"I received your e-mail regarding your failure to be able to complete this transaction. I accept your offer of a refund - but will do this officially via this medium rather than your curiously strange desire to do so via e-mail.
Please note that your obligation to provide such a refund is in no way contingent on your request regarding the "feed-back". I consider such a condition being suggested in your inept apology offensive and not very conducive to suggesting the action you suggest is in my interests.
    Extract from your message:

"We checked with logistics company about the item shipping status,
    ————————8<—————————————————
After our full refund, please do not leave any feedback,we appreciate it , we cancel transaction.""

  • I got mine today, https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/81226/38021/20160318_1…
My order was on the 2nd of Mar. Sorry guys if you didn't get yours.

    • Good to hear. The Dongle has style, I'll give it that.

  • I have now received a refund for this.

    Hopefully it still arrives….

  • Forgot I even ordered these, but yeah I got the same message as everyone else

  • If you closed them eBay claim, just open a PayPal claim. Make sure these dodgy sellers do not get away doing this or they will keep doing it!

They asked me to close my eBay claim… which I did (my mistake) but have now lodged a PayPal claim.
